About Trevor Mathias
Trevor received his B.S. degree in marketing and finance from the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC). He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Law degree from The John Marshall Law School (now non-practicing), and has a certificate in financial planning from Northwestern University. In addition, Trevor has taught finance courses as an adjunct professor at the College of Business Administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has also served on boards and finance committees, including for the Kohl Children’s Museum and the University of Illinois Alumni Association. In 2010, Trevor was elected into the UIC Alumni Leadership Academy.
Before joining Morgan Stanley, Trevor was a Financial Advisor at American Frontier Financial and a Divisional Vice President and Senior Retirement Consultant at UBS.
Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, Trevor came to the United States on an NCAA Division I hockey scholarship. He was a member of the 1989 Canadian National Hockey Championship Team. In his spare time, Trevor enjoys golf and marathon running. Trevor resides in Glenview with his wife and three children.

About Patrick C Ryan
In addition to a commitment to success in his professional life, Patrick has an overriding desire to help others. He spent many years active with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Chicago as a mentor, as well as a volunteer tutor and committee member for WITS. WITS tutors (Working In The Schools) work with Chicago Public School students on a weekly basis to improve reading and study skills of underprivileged students. Patrick currently lives in Chicago with his wife, a native of Venezuela, which has motivated them to dedicate their philanthropic endeavors to the Illinois Venezuelan Alliance. Currently their little free time is spent chasing the baby of the family.

About Adam C Coons
Originally from Barrington, Illinois, Adam was a two sport all-state athlete. He received several opportunities to play division one baseball in college but chose to focus 100% of his efforts on his coursework at the Kelley School of Business. Adam earned a B.S. in finance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and a certificate in financial planning from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He began his career as an intern with The Mathias Group, then Client Service Associate, Financial Advisor Associate and is now a Partner in the practice.
Over the years, Adam has contributed his time and resources to numerous philanthropic organizations in Chicago. He co-founded the local chapter of Model Citizen Fund to provide supplies and support to Chicago’s homeless population. He also served as a volunteer tutor for WITS (Working In The Schools) and the All Starts Project of Chicago, aiming to mentor and improve literary skills for students within Chicago Public Schools.
Adam is an automotive enthusiast and a black belt in Tae-Kwon Do. He enjoys all types of athletics, including hockey, baseball, golf and running.

About Thomas Dougherty, CFP®
Tom earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from Northwestern University and received his B.S. degree in Finance from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. He also holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations.
In addition to his work with Morgan Stanley, Tom enjoys contributing his time towards WITS (Working in the Schools), LOSS – Catholic Charities, and is a founding member of the CHRISCHROSS Foundation.
He resides in Chicago, Illinois and loves to golf, travel, and try new restaurants.

About Newell F. Bentley III
Before his tenure at Morgan Stanley, Newell spent seventeen years at Johnson Controls, Inc., serving as a mechanical engineer and program manager—an experience that continues to inform his disciplined, analytical approach to advising. His entrepreneurial background is highlighted by founding and operating a residential real estate and property management business in metro Detroit, which enriches his appreciation for the challenges and dynamics of small business ownership.
Newell holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University, followed by an MBA with a finance concentration from Walsh College. He subsequently earned the Certified Financial Planner® designation, further solidifying his professional credentials in wealth management.
Beyond his professional work, Newell is actively engaged in leadership and community service: he serves as Vice President of the Chicago Chapter of the Private Directors Association (as of January 2025), has been a board member of the Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) in Illinois since January 2023, has served as President of the Delta Chi Chicago Area Alumni Chapter since March 2019, and was appointed Chair of the Deerfield–Bannockburn–Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce for 2026.
He resides in Deerfield, Illinois with his wife and two children. In addition to his professional commitments, Newell contributes as a youth sports coach and nonprofit board member, reflecting his dedication to community enrichment.

Outside the office, he is an active volunteer at his children’s school and stays competitive on the golf course and in the backyard. He has also completed the Chicago Marathon multiple times, running in support of causes including Immerman Angels, Every Mother Counts, and Team World Vision.

He joined the Mathias Group in July 2025, following his graduation from the University of Alabama, where he earned a degree in Finance with a minor in Sales. During his time at the university, Miles was actively involved in the Order of Alpha and Capstone Men in Business Honor societies and served as Vice President of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Miles is dedicated to maintaining an active lifestyle. He enjoys running, weightlifting, and playing pickleball and golf with friends and family. Additionally, he has a strong passion for trying new things and enjoying the outdoors.

Luca joined The Mathias Group in July of 2025. He is a first-generation student and is now looking to make a positive impact in the Wealth Management industry.

About Audrey Margolies
Audrey joined the Mathias Group in September 2025. She graduated from Emory University in May of 2025 where she majored in Economics and minored in Business. During her junior year, Audrey studied economics at University College London, whose economics department is ranked top 20 globally.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring Chicago’s museums, parks, and restaurants. She also enjoys taking pottery classes, painting, working out, and traveling.
About Dino DiGrazia
Dino joined The Mathias Group in March 2026 after graduating from Elmhurst University where he majored in finance. During his time there, he was on the golf team for four years and was the captain during his junior and senior years. Dino was also a co-founder and co-president of the Elmhurst University Club hockey team.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also likes to live an active lifestyle which includes going to the gym, playing golf, and traveling to new places.

The Steering Council consists of representatives from all segments of the MMI membership. The primary contacts at each of MMI’s 207 member firms were eligible to vote to determine the winners. Nominations were reviewed and evaluated to determine finalists June 2024 - July 2024. Finalists were voted on to determine a winner August 2024. MMI/Barron’s does not receive compensation from the participating firms in exchange for the award and Morgan Stanley did not pay a fee to MMI/Barron’s in exchange for its receipt of the award. According to Cerulli Associates’ Q1 2026 Managed Account Edition, Morgan Stanley ranked first among 15 firms in Direct Index SMA assets under management based on reported industry assets. The ranking reflects scale of assets and does not evaluate tax outcomes, performance, or quality of technology. Tax outcomes will vary and are not guaranteed.
3) The Celent Model Wealth Manager 2025 Awards for Data and Analytics and Essential and Emerging Technologies were granted to Morgan Stanley following an evaluation process conducted by Celent analysts. To be considered for this award, Morgan Stanley submitted Model Wealth Manager 2025 Nomination Award Worksheets to Celent on or about January 30, 2025. Celent judged each submission on three criteria: (1) Measurable business benefits of live initiatives; (2) degree of innovation relative to the industry; and (3) technology or implementation excellence. In order to win, the initiatives must demonstrate clear business benefits, innovation, and technology or implementation excellence. Important Risk Information for Securities Based Lending: Clients must be aware that: (1) Sufficient collateral must be maintained to support the loan and to take future advances; (2) Clients may have to deposit additional cash or eligible securities on short notice; (3) Some or all of the pledged securities may be sold without prior notice in order to maintain account equity at required collateral maintenance levels. Clients will not be entitled to choose the securities that will be sold. To be eligible for a securities based loan, a client must have a brokerage account at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC that contains eligible securities, which shall serve as collateral for the securities based loan.

There is no guarantee that tax-loss harvesting will achieve any particular tax result.
