About Our Team

The Martin-Rizzo Group has been taking a holistic approach to wealth management.  We are committed to serving more than just our clients’ financial needs by leveraging our network of professionals to help our clients with virtually all aspects of their lives.  We can create a personalized wealth management strategy that integrates the various aspects of your financial life to help achieve your goals.

We also take great pride in assisting individuals and families involved in personal injury and wrongful death settlements and/or have members with special needs.  We offer a comprehensive plan to help them live a fulfilling life through the use of structured settlements, special needs trusts and upfront money management.  We do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions but rather find success in developing strategies within the context of our clients’ overall financial picture.

In addition, we also work with landowners and assist them with land preservation.  Financial planning and conservation tools such as conservation easements, charitable remainder trusts or bequests are available to help you accomplish your estate planning and land preservation goals.  We can help you find a local land trust or government land conservation agency that can work with you to achieve your objectives.

There are many reasons why landowners might want to explore alternatives to traditional land sale and development as they consider their own financial and estate planning needs. Some may want to see their land remain free from development for their own lifetime and for those of future generations. Other reasons are more pragmatic. For example, some landowners:

- Are concerned with the tax implications of land that has appreciated in value significantly since it was acquired
- Need to tap into the value of their land to increase family income
- Have many real estate holdings or land that they no longer want to use or manage
- Worry about capital gains on a sale of the property

Financial planning and conservation tools such as conservation easements, charitable remainder trusts, or bequests are available to help landowners accomplish their estate planning and land preservation goals. Sound financial and legal advice can help you decide which options are right for you and your family. We can help you find a local land trust or governmental land conservation agency that can work with you to accomplish your objectives.
    Our personalized wealth management process begins before a final settlement is awarded. Typically, we employ the following four-step process:

    - Discovery – we like to have an in-depth conversation with you and your attorney prior to the settlement to explore your current finances, future objectives, current risk tolerance, health needs and other needs you may need to plan for.

    - Creating your strategy – we help develop a tailored strategy designed to help meet your objectives. These strategies may include structured settlements, lump sum payments, etc.

    - Implementing your strategy – we work with your attorney to establish the various investment vehicles that are required in order for you to meet your goals.

    - Review and Evaluation – we strive to keep abreast of your changing financial needs and help provide viable solutions to meet your changing circumstances over time.
    Families planning for the financial well-being of a child with special needs face several challenges. They often design their financial and estate plan so that it provides for their child with special needs without:

    - Depriving their other children of a meaningful inheritance;
    - Placing their other children in a position of responsibility that they may not be prepared or willing to assume;
    - Rendering their child with special needs ineligible for government benefits like Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid.

    For families dealing with these complex issues, a special needs trust can prove to be a viable solution. We work with a large network of trust attorneys and corporate trustees to help facilitate the process for you.
