Meet The Redwood Legacy Group

About Jim Maher

Joining Morgan Stanley in July of 2000, Jim Maher has spent several decades with the firm and has more than 30 years of experience as a financial advisor. Throughout his career, Jim has obtained a number of professional certifications including the Series 3, 7, 8, 63, 65, as well as being registered in 36 states.

Along with other members of the Redwood Legacy Team, Jim works with clients to understand their specific circumstances, using this knowledge to develop a plan to meet their financial objectives while incorporating their goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. Jim also recognizes that investment decisions must take into consideration the importance of estate and tax planning. As a result, he coordinates with his clients’ CPAs and attorneys on these matters.

A graduate of the University of Iowa, Jim received a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies. Jim also attended American College of Financial Services, where he received a Master’s of Science in Management.

Jim is a very involved member of his community. He has served as a board member for the Jacoby Creek School District and Hospice of Humboldt. He is also a former President of the College of the Redwoods Foundation Board, and a former member of the Chief’s Advisory Panel for the Eureka Police Department.

Outside of work, Jim and his wife Joni enjoy spending time with their daughters Allie and Jamie, as well as their two dogs Marley and Brody. Other interests of Jim include running, cycling, cooking, and reading. He is also a member of San Diego Ultra Running Friends (SURF).

Sue Callantine is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in California.

Private Bankers partner with Financial Advisors to develop a specialized approach for managing clients’ cash flow, liquidity and financing needs, leveraging our comprehensive suite of cash management and lending solutions.

Sue began her career in financial services in 1997, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2019 as a Private Banker. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Private Banker at Bank of the West. She also served as a Private Banker at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and Bank of America.

Sue is a graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. She lives in Orangevale, California with her husband.
