About Peter White
Peter brings stability and diverse experience as the founding member of the Los Angeles Group at Morgan Stanley. Having spent 29 years in the same office, Peter has risen to become an Executive Director, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Senior Investment Management Consultant. In 2023, he has been named to the Forbes Best in State (California) Wealth Advisors for the second year in a row. Every client has a unique story and circumstances. Applying Morgan Stanley’s resources and the team’s experience, Peter develops solutions which help clients lead the lives that they have worked so hard to create.
Starting his career in government relations in Washington, DC, Peter worked with Congressional staff and various government agencies in the late 1980s and early 1990s on a variety of policy issues including international trade issues, product safety, environmental testing, and defense procurement. Moving to Los Angeles in 1992, he continued his career in government relations, working on a pilot research project for RAND and an advisory commission for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, which produced reports and recommendations on the County pension system, risk management, and the County’s real estate inventory management. Peter’s past work experience brings a thorough understanding of the macro-economic and the political environment allowing him to help position clients to navigate a rapidly changing world.
Donating his time, Peter has been a past Board member for Friendly House, the first recovery home for women addicts and alcoholics started in 1951. Friendly House now offers, detox, addiction treatment, and sober living to women. During his 21-year association with Friendly House Board of Directors, Peter was President of the Board for 7 years. He was a founding Board member in 2008 and first President of the Board of Trustees for the Episcopal School of Los Angeles. Both of his children graduated from ESLA. His last term on the Board ended in June 2023. Peter has been a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills for over 30 years and has been a past Vestry member, Treasurer, and Finance Committee member for 16 years. Living in the historic Wilshire Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, Peter was a Board member since 2007 to 2021 and past President of the Wilshire Park Association. Historic preservation is one of Peter’s passions.
Peter is a graduate of the University of Virginia, with Bachelor of Arts in History. He is a recipient of the Phillips Literary Award from the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. He has completed course work at the Institute of European Studies at the London School of Economics and the University of Paris IV. His daughter is attending the American University of Paris for an undergraduate degree. His son graduated from Chapman University in May 2023 with a Business Degree.
In his spare time, Peter loves to travel, enjoy great meals with friends, attend concerts, art openings, Burning Man, and spending time with his two grown children. Peter has completed 16 marathons and vows to never run another marathon again.
