About Us

At The Lakeland Group, our team's extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge has enabled us to successfully advise a wide range of clients with a focus on pre-retirees and retirees. We've guided many individuals through the challenges associated with retirement helping them live those years in the manner they envisioned.

Financial planning has always been a focus of our group; we believe every client should have a financial plan. As part of this commitment, we have a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® on our team who is especially adept at putting a client's entire financial life into a clear picture, and balancing their short-term goals with their long-term objective of retirement security.

Family is also important to each of us whether we're at home or in the office. With the composition of our team, we have the capability of advising your family for both now and the future. Many times, we've been privileged to work with third or even fourth generations of families, which is especially rewarding.

Our seasoned advisors have been through every type of market, and understand how to respond accordingly. Our clients appreciate our measured guidance especially during turbulent or difficult periods when many factors could be impacting their investments. Long-term investing is a marathon, not a sprint.

We're a true team with each advisor having their own responsibilities and areas of focus. We collaborate to provide the highest standard of care for each client. This team approach is particularly valuable when dealing with complex financial situations, such as buying a vacation home, succeeding a business or transitioning a legacy. We strive to make all of our clients' financial lives simpler so they can focus instead on those things that bring them the most fulfillment.

Meanwhile, our support professionals enhance the overall client experience with their exemplary service. They're especially gifted at navigating clients through matters involving technology—such as opening or managing their accounts, executing day-to-day financial transactions or leveraging the digital tools offered by Morgan Stanley—all with a warm touch.

For our efforts, we've been recognized as a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Management Team from 2023 -2026. We encourage you to learn more about our group, and welcome the opportunity to have a conversation with you.

Creating Your Plan

To be truly effective, your financial plan must reflect the totality of your personal and financial life. Our role is to help ensure your investment objectives are consistent with your financial concerns and long-term goals.

Our four-step process was developed to help you achieve that objective.
    Icon Image
    Setting Your Financial Objectives
Through a process of discovery and discussion, we’ll work with you to articulate your wealth goals.

Together, we’ll examine your current and future needs and resources. We’ll then consider factors that might influence your overall strategy, including your risk tolerance, tax concerns, liquidity needs and time horizon.

Through careful analysis, our team will also search for potential gaps that may exist between your goals and develop strategies to help address these matters.
    Icon Image
    Creating Your Strategy
After we have an understanding of your objectives, we’ll propose a financial plan with specific strategies designed to help achieve them. Our advice may encompass issues such as retirement planning, business continuation, potential tax minimization and wealth transfer. We’ll also develop an asset allocation strategy to match your goals and risk tolerance.
    Icon Image
    Implementing Your Strategy
After discussing and refining your strategy, we’ll work to bring those elements to life. Planning is a vital part of our process. Using tools to actively monitor your plan’s progress, we’ll help to keep your plan on track.
    Icon Image
    Reviewing Objectives and Performance
We view ongoing communications as the foundation of our successful collaboration. We ask you to inform us about any changes in your life, and we’ll regularly connect with you to keep your plan in sync with your needs. No matter where life takes you, we can serve as your Financial Advisor. Many clients live out of state either part-time or permanently.

About Guy Roe

Guy Roe is a First Vice President and Financial Advisor in Morgan Stanley’s Minocqua office.

With more than 40 years of industry experience, Guy helps individuals and families pursue their financial objectives through thoughtful wealth and portfolio management. He draws on disciplined equity research, purposeful asset allocation and select risk-management techniques, and frequently coordinates with clients’ tax and legal professionals on estate considerations. Guy’s goal is to provide clear guidance, steady perspective and responsive service at every stage of a client’s financial life.

A graduate of DePauw University with a B.A. in Economics, Guy closely follows economic forecasts and business trends to help inform portfolio construction and long-term planning. Raised in St. Louis and an Eagle Scout, he credits early leadership experiences—and many summers on Scout camp staff—for shaping his values of integrity, preparedness and community service.

Now residing in Wisconsin’s Northwoods, Guy and his wife, Katie, appreciate the ability to live, work and play amid the area’s natural beauty. Deeply engaged in the community, he has served as Treasurer of the Lakeland Hawks Ice Association, Chair of the Camp Manito-wish YMCA Board, and Director of WXPR public radio. About Matthew Kluetz

Matt has been working with clients to help formulate and implement comprehensive financial plans since 2004. Before joining the Lakeland Group at Morgan Stanley, he spent 10 years as an Aerospace Engineer test flying business jets. Matt earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University. He is a problem solver with a highly analytical background who understands that wealth planning is as much an art as it is a science.

Matt is dedicated to serving families and business owners with complex financial needs and devising a clear plan and systematic way of measuring the progress each year. Matt believes this approach keeps clients focused on reaching their goals and helps them avoid emotional pitfalls, as opposed to an index based approach which often results in investors becoming distracted by market noise and letting their emotions dictate their actions. Matt believes "it's not what you gain in the up years, but what you retain in the down years" that allow clients to be successful.

Striving to be more than a trusted advisor to their clients, Matt and the team at the Lakeland Group invest the time to truly understand their clients, listening to what matters most to them and what they want to accomplish during their lifetime. His analytical experience enables him to convey complex ideas to clients in a manner they can easily understand.

Matt is actively involved in the Eagle River Lions Club and the Eagle River Lions Club Foundation where he has served as a Board Member and Secretary of the Club. He was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship for his dedication and exemplary service to his Club. He is proud of his past involvement in the YMCA of the Northwoods, having served as a Board Member and President of the Eagle River Branch. Matt also serves as a board member of the Northwoods Children's Museum in Eagle River.

An engaging person with a great sense of humor, Matt enjoys meeting new people and finding common interests. He has a variety of hobbies, including traveling the world with his wife Laura for exploration and relaxation and cooking a range of ethnic foods to experiment with tastes and methods of preparation. Matt's family has a lake house, which has been in his family for over 100 years, that fills much of their summertime with boat rides and quality time with family and friends.

About Andy Roe

Andy Roe creates strategies that can help clients develop, understand, and achieve their financial goals.

Andy has been working with Morgan Stanley for seven years. Prior to this, Andy led progressive wilderness expeditions for teenagers that focused on building character and leadership qualities by tackling outdoor challenges. Through this experience, he has gained a great appreciation for the complete planning process: developing, executing, and reviewing. Andy earned his B.A. in economics from Colorado College, and in June 2025, earned his CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst) designation.

Working with a diverse client base, Andy helps complex families organize their affairs, document their goals, and implement strategies that can help them reach those goals more effectively. The planning process begins by listening to the client's most pressing financial concerns and prioritizing their goals. Andy believes in working collaboratively with his clients and their other professional advisors to bring clarity to their financial picture. Whether the goals are estate and tax planning strategies, retirement planning, risk management, charitable giving, business succession planning, or liability management, he strives to achieve the right balance of risk and return.

Wealth planning means more than providing clients with investment advice. It means helping them maintain the financial independence they've worked their whole lives to achieve. It means striving to ensure they have the means to pursue what's most important to them. And it means understanding them as people with unique goals, values, and circumstances that determine the strategies developed on their behalf.

Andy, his wife, Mary, and their kids, Mackenzie and Ryan, love spending time outside and can often be found canoeing, hiking, biking, camping, golfing, and boating. Andy is particularly proud of his involvement in Camp Manito-wish YMCA and believes his experiences there have shaped nearly every aspect of his life.
