Our Story and Services

The cornerstones of the LaCroix Wealth Management Group are compassion and integrity; the values of family. Robert LaCroix, a Stanford University graduate, founded the Group in 1983, and withstood the test of numerous market cycles. As a result, he was able to pass down decades of knowledge and real-world experience as a mentor to his son Michael, before retiring in 2019 after practicing for over 35 years. Michael, who joined the Group in 2012, is proud to continue the legacy of integrity and hard work his father modeled throughout his career.

Michael’s academic training in finance and statistical economics enable him to comprehend the complex web of capital markets, and the ever-changing investment and political landscape. As a Certified Financial Planner™, Michael enjoys using this knowledge to help formulate sophisticated strategies tailored for each client. During in-depth discussions, he carefully listens to each family member’s concerns and objectives. After developing an understanding of their most important needs, Michael distills complex industry concepts and strategies into straightforward ideas, so each family member has a clear understanding of the plan being developed. As a result of the Group’s position and 40-year history with Morgan Stanley, Michael is able to effectively deploy the vast network and institutional resources offered by the Firm as a global leader in wealth management and financial services on behalf of his clients.

In 2019, Michael was named to Morgan Stanley’s President’s Club, an elite group composed of the Firm’s top Financial Advisors. In 2022, he was promoted by Morgan Stanley to Managing Director, Wealth Management, and was named to Forbes 2022 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors ranking. In 2022, Morgan Stanley also named Michael an Alternative Investments Director for his practice's emphasis and expertise with private alternative investments. In 2023, Michael was named to Forbes America's Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors ranking, placing in the top 40 wealth advisors in the nation under 40 years of age. These accolades reflect the excellence and hard work that are fundamental to the LaCroix Wealth Management Group.

About Michael R. LaCroix

Michael joined the LaCroix Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley after earning a B.S. in Economics, with emphases in Finance and Econometrics, from Southern Methodist University. Joining the Group enabled him to combine his love of economics and working with people. Michael aids his clients by deploying Morgan Stanley’s award-winning resources, network, and technology to provide high-level strategic advice, accompanied by rigorous portfolio analysis. As a Certified Financial Planner™, he is able to distill this advice into a clear and easily-understood plan of action to help accomplish the unique needs of each client. The end result is a highly customized plan designed to protect and enhance wealth for present and future generations. In 2019, Michael assumed responsibility for the full operations of the Group following the retirement of his father, who originally founded the Group in 1983. In 2022, Michael was promoted to Managing Director, Wealth Management. He was also named to Forbes 2022 Best-In-State Wealth Advisor ranking. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his growing family, exercising, golfing, and volunteering with his Rotary Club. He lives in Coronado with his wife Lauren and their two sons, Mason and Wyatt.
