In the fall of 2023, Marc Jacobson and his team at Morgan Stanley presented a client event with his close friends, Greg Harden and Desmond Howard.
Greg was a Performance Coach at the University of Michigan for decades, positively impacting the lives of many athletes, including Tom Brady, Michael Phelps and Desmond Howard. He published a New York Times Best-Selling-Book detailing his lessons, titled "Staying Sane in an Insane World: How to Control the Controllables and Thrive". These life lessons apply to anyone, not just athletes.
Desmond Howard played football at the University of Michigan and went on to the win the 1991 Heisman Trophy as a Wide Receiver. He also played professionally in the NFL for many years and won the Super Bowl XXXI Most Valuable Player award. Desmond currently serves as a College Football Analyst for ESPN. Desmond's achievements would not have been possible without the lessons that Greg taught him.
During this client event, Marc moderated a discussion with Greg and Desmond centered around their lives, Greg's impact on Desmond and the lessons that Greg's book teaches. The 2024 tax tables detail the marginal tax rates for various income brackets and filing statuses. Important deadlines include the 2024 estimated tax payments and the last day to file federal income tax returns.
