Charting a Course to Financial Success

Before taking flight, it’s imperative to file a detailed flight plan so you arrive at your destination successfully and on schedule. It’s also vital to have an experienced pilot and crew by your side who can manage unexpected situations, like low visibility or turbulence, and who have the capabilities to make adjustments without losing sight of the destination.

The same is true when planning your financial future.

At The Kelly Group, we are a seasoned team of caring professionals. Over the past 20 years, we have developed a disciplined process to help you define and reach your financial goals so you can enjoy your wealth and leave a lasting legacy.

Like a skilled pilot, we begin by understanding where you are today and where you want to go. We then assess the path you are on, using a variety of specialized tools and techniques. We determine if your plan is on course and recommend strategies to propel it forward. And when we experience turbulence and crosswinds, we will continue to guide your plan forward. Our number one priority is to help ensure you arrive at your destination safely and as scheduled.

Our Journey Starts and Ends with You

Our first-class Standard of Care emphasizes personalization and transparency, so we always know what’s happening in your life, and you always know what’s happening with your flight plan. These factors distinguish us from other advisory teams and consists of three important components:

• Continuous service
• Mutual understanding of goals and direction
• Ongoing relationship building

We are proud of the first-class service we provide each client and welcome the opportunity to deliver the same level of excellence to you and your family.

We look forward to speaking with you soon.

Your Journey, Our Process

Creating a clear and confident flight plan to get you from point “A” to point “B” begins with understanding your values, priorities and aspirations. Working together, we define what is most important to you and develop the path and strategies to get you there.
    1: State Your Destination
Our relationship begins with a face-to-face conversation to understand your financial concerns and determine if your specific objectives align with our strengths and areas of focus. We discuss important investment concepts and provide details on our investment philosophy. We then prepare a Statement of Understanding, a document that outlines your goals and critical details about you and your family.
    2: Check the Engines
Here, we continue our dialogue. We learn about the values that shape your decisions and identify any unique circumstances. We also examine your existing investments –
including your retirement plans – and study your assets and liabilities. Our goal is to gain a complete understanding of your current finances, so we have all the fuel needed to create a plan that reflects who you are and where you want to go.
3: Create & Review Your Flight Plan
Utilizing proprietary planning tools and our investment guidelines, we develop your personalized financial flight plan with recommendations to help you grow, preserve and transfer your wealth. We then present your detailed plan, which serves as the foundation for all future financial discussions. Over time, we will continuously revisit and revise your plan as situations change.
    4: Taxi &Takeoff
Once approved, we put your plan into action. We’ll establish any necessary new accounts, initiate the account transfer process and provide online account instructions so you have immediate and secure access to your accounts and information. We will also establish your top priorities for the first leg of your flight.
    5: In Flight
Throughout your journey with us, we remain committed to a first-class experience. We focus on developing a relationship that provides special value to you and your family and offers a fully engaged standard of care. And because markets and personal needs evolve over time, we set up monthly meetings to ensure your plan remains on track to achieving your goals.
    Flight Crew
Because of the first-class service we provide our clients, it takes a team to bring everything together. You may begin your flight with one team member and meet with various members throughout the flight that bring different skills and experiences to bear.

Our Service Model

At The Kelly Group, we believe successful wealth management is a process, not an event. As a result, we have built a personalized, first-class service experience that is based on three critical components:

• Continuous service
• Mutual understanding of goals and direction
• Ongoing relationship building

This enables us to provide service that is both value-added and differentiating. The number one way we attract new clients – and maintain existing ones – is our premium service experience.

Monthly Phone Calls
As part of our commitment to superior service, we schedule monthly calls with our clients. Each call is intended to address different topics that will help you more effectively reach your goals. During this time, we also discuss updates in your life, questions you may have about the market or an opportunity to provide timely information about your portfolio.

While you drive each conversation with your agenda items, here is a list of topics we may discuss throughout the year:

• Retirement plan contributions and distributions
• Required minimum distributions
• Beneficiary review and estate plan updates
• Debt reduction
• Insurance reviews
• Tax-efficient gifting strategies
• Maximizing social security benefits
• Educating the next generation

Your Financial Co-Pilot
As stewards of your personal wealth, we believe you should have immediate access to us, as well as the vast services offered through Morgan Stanley. In addition to the above scheduled activities, we are always available to answer your questions, either in person or by phone. Our number one priority is to be your first call for any financial matter – no matter how simple or complex the situation.

Meet The Kelly Group

About Chris Kelly

As founder and senior advisor of The Kelly Group, Chris serves as the team’s pilot, shaping the Group’s strategic vision with a commitment to excellence. For more than 25 years, he has been providing personalized financial advice to individuals, families and business leaders in the Pensacola area and across the country. His extensive knowledge, experience and relationship management skills enable him to understand the intricate details of each client’s personal wealth. He focuses on what is most important to each client, so he can develop a tailored plan designed to address their specific challenges and accomplish their long-term goals.

Born on an army base in Germany, Chris spent his early school years near Ft. Rucker, AL before moving to the Pensacola area in 1976. He graduated from the University of West Florida with a B.S. degree in Marketing and Finance and began his career with First Alabama Bank in Birmingham. His first few years in the industry took him from Alabama to Tennessee, providing a solid foundation in the banking and lending industry. He enjoyed being part of the financial world, but it was working one-on-one with clients that was his true passion. In 2000, he made the decision to return to Pensacola, where he joined Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor. He has been an invaluable member of the firm ever since.

Throughout his career, Chris has remained committed to professional development, earning important industry designations including Certified Investment Management AnalystSM and Certified Wealth Strategist®, and such firm certifications as Portfolio Management Director and Wealth Advisor. These credentials reflect Chris’s commitment to a world-class client experience and desire to provide ongoing education to himself and his clients.

Chris draws upon his vast experience to provide clients with customized portfolios and tailored advice. His disciplined process begins with asking the right questions and actively listening. This information then serves as the foundation for the development of a detailed plan that reflects each client’s goals, values and personal circumstances. He enjoys putting complex investment strategies into action and effectively communicating these strategies using simple and easy-to-understand language. Chris is also responsible for managing the Group’s various investment portfolios and interviewing potential new portfolio managers.

Chris’s desire to help others is equaled only by his dedication to his community, his industry and his family. Over the years, he has been active with many organizations. He has been a board member of the Waterfront Rescue Mission for the past nine years and has served with the Downtown Rotary Club for ten years. He is also active with Kingdom Advisors and Grace Community Church, as well as the Estate Planning Council of NW Florida, Cannon Financial and the Investment & Wealth Institute. Previous leadership roles include Escambia County 4H (board member and investment chair); WSRE Public TV (board member and investment chair); Covenant Hospice (board member); and Panhandle Tiger Bay (board member and President).

Chris believes balance is vital to a happy life. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking and being in the mountains and has spent the last several years hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail. He also enjoys exercising regularly, playing tennis, kayaking and travelling, especially to visit clients who live across the United States. His life centers on a love for his family. He and his wife, Sharyn, have been married for 33 years, and find their most valued assets are their four children and two children-in-law.
