About Chuck Jones

Chuck Jones is a Financial Advisor, Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management Director and founding partner of The Mountain Spring Group at Morgan Stanley. Chuck joined Morgan Stanley in 1995 and has spent the entirety of his career with the firm. Chuck enjoys forming relationships with people and in turn, helping them work towards their life goals for now and the future. Chuck strives to know his clients personally before implementing strategies to help ensure that his advice is centered on what is best for his clients. Chuck finds immense pride in the client service his team provides clients, and he focuses on providing his clients with confidence, guidance, and support through virtually every stage of their lives.

Chuck graduated from The University of Alabama, Huntsville where he earned his B.S. Finance. Before UAH, he was a member of the golf team at Wallace State Community College. After college, Chuck moved to Florida to pursue a dream of playing golf professionally. Soon after arriving in the sunshine state, he began to pursue his other heartfelt passions – helping people and forming meaningful relationships. He ultimately decided to follow his passion of helping people over playing golf full time.

Chuck has spent the last 25 years serving his clients by making sure they have a plan in place to help achieve their most ambitious goals. In 2022, Chuck was honored as a member of Morgan Stanley's prestigious Century Club for consistent excellence in providing a wide range of investment products and wealth management services.

Chuck is proud to serve in various volunteer rolls in the Huntsville community. Over the years, Chuck has served on several boards including president of The National Children's Advocacy Center board of directors, First United Methodist finance committee, Valley Foundation Board, former president of the New Hope Children’s Clinic and former president of the Land Trust of North Alabama.

Above all else, Chuck is a devoted family man. Chuck married his wife, Julie, in 1996. They have three children together – Harrison, Hayden, and Anna Kathryn. Chuck and Julie enjoy spending time with their family and friends as well as traveling. In Chuck’s spare time, he enjoys golfing, running, hunting, and attending his local church – First United Methodist in Huntsville.

About Grant Thomson

Grant is a Financial Advisor and First Vice President with the Mountain Spring Group at Morgan Stanley.

Grant grew up in the “Rocket City”, when Huntsville was leading the space race to put a man on the moon with the development of the Saturn V rocket. This experience had a major impact on him by showing what men and women can do by setting a goal and a having plan to accomplish it. Grant’s background in engineering eventually lead him to a career in financial planning and the Certified Financial Planner (™) designation. Solving problems and building relationships with people are what he finds most rewarding.

Many people struggle with their own finances because they have a different skill set that they focus on each day. “I enjoy being the one they turn to for financial advice and showing them what is possible through careful planning and using all of the tools available to them”. Clients often have a hard time mentally connecting all the pieces of their financial life. Our planning process brings all of that together into clear focus and allows them to clearly see the path to long term success, whether that is retirement, education, or legacy planning.

Grant has been in a financial advisor or management role with Morgan Stanley since 1990, both in Atlanta, GA and in Huntsville, AL. He has the designations of Certified Financial Planner™, Investment Management Consultant and Alternative Investments Director. Grant is also a private pilot with both an instrument rating and multi-engine rating.

As a native Huntsvillian, Grant is proud of the growth our city has experienced. He is an active member and past president of the Huntsville Rotary Club (Huntsville’s oldest service organization since 1917). Grant and his wife Louann have been active in the club’s STRIVE mentoring program which provides mentoring and scholarship opportunities for inner-city youth. They also proudly support the Greene Street Market, Huntsville Museum of Art, Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Nativity Historic Preservation Foundation, and the Hudson Alpha Institute for Biotechnology. Grant and Louann love to travel and are constantly planning their next big adventure. There is a great big world out there and they plan to experience as much of it as possible as they add to the 50+ countries and almost 50 states they’ve visited.

Spike McRoy is a First Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor with The Mountain Spring Group at Morgan Stanley, joining the firm in September of 2008. Spike favors a comprehensive approach to his client’s financial planning needs. He strives to cover all aspects of what it takes to help create and sustain the goals and objectives set forth at the beginning of his client’s journey. Spike cherishes the positive impact that he and his team have had on the lives of their clients and their families.

Spike’s passion for finance began as a young boy when his father walked him into a Dean Witter (now Morgan Stanley) office, and along with a professional advisor, educated him on how his pocket-full of cash from summer jobs could grow much faster outside the hiding place deep within his sock drawer. Spike followed this newfound passion to The University of Alabama, earning a degree in Business/Corporate Finance.

Following the 15 year fulfillment of his childhood dreams to compete and win on the PGA Tour, Spike was graciously offered an opportunity to join a wealth management group with Morgan Stanley, enabling him to pursue his passion for finance.

Spike and his wife were married in 1992 at Huntsville’s First United Methodist Church, where they currently attend today with their three children. Spike and his wife’s philanthropy and spirituality are near and dear to their hearts as their faith and commitment to their community extends to other local churches under the Cove Church umbrella. Spike and his wife actively participate in the Walk to Emmaus community, the Lincoln Village Ministries, and the Huntsville Downtown Rescue Mission. Spike also serves as a Board Member for the Huntsville Red Elephant Club since 2010. Spike previously served as a Board Member for the National Children’s Advocacy Center. In his spare time, Spike enjoys coaching golf at the Westminster Christian Academy, watching college football (Roll Tide!), enjoying family hikes, and fishing.

About Madeline Mullins

Madeline carried this newfound passion to The University of Alabama, where she earned her B.A in Information Sciences – Public Relations, understanding that communication would play a central role in her career. Upon graduation, Madeline became an Employee Benefit Service Specialist for Principal Financial Group. After her first year, Madeline was promoted to an Account Executive role, where she traveled throughout the southeast to provide fiduciary liability management and employee education for large corporate retirement plans. In 2006, Madeline left the finance industry to work in church ministry, where she continued to manage programs and educate young people. After 13 years of working in church ministry, Madeline was recruited by The Jones McRoy Team to help develop marketing strategies and further enhance their client experience. The team’s passion for service coupled with the ability to continue to minister people (this time in the world of finance) was an opportunity that Madeline couldn’t pass up.

Madeline currently resides in Huntsville, Alabama with her husband, Robert, and their two daughters. Madeline and Robert were married in her hometown of Greensboro, Alabama in May 2002. Madeline is active in the Huntsville community, donating her time as a Sunday school teacher with the Church of the Nativity, Episcopal, a sustainer with the Junior League of Huntsville, and a chairperson on the Huntsville High School PTSA Board. She has previously served on the boards of Blossomwood Elementary and Huntsville Junior High School PTA as well as the Junior League of Huntsville. In her spare time, Madeline enjoys the outdoors, working in her yard, playing tennis, traveling, snow-skiing, and cheering on her daughters at various sporting events.

Originally from Venezuela, Keren came to the United States in September of 2005 with her parents and two younger sisters as missionaries for the Hispanic and Latin community in North Georgia. There, she graduated from Reinhardt University, where she studied Global Communications and digital film and media.

After graduating, she moved with her family to Huntsville, Alabama where she met her husband, Carlos. DeMario Hopkins is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida.
