We build a strong relationship with each person and family, an achievement we believe is possible only with a family office practice. For this reason, we choose to work with a limited number of clients.

Meet The Hill Group

About Me

Emily Bowersock Hill, CFP®, Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor, joined Morgan Stanley in 2002. She became a Family Wealth Director (FWD) in 2011. As such, she provides comprehensive wealth management across a range of disciplines important to high net worth families, including financial and estate planning strategies, portfolio strategies using both traditional and alternative investments, and access to a variety of advisory services such as family governance, intergenerational planning, and philanthropic services. Before joining Morgan Stanley, she was a consultant in New York and Boston at McKinsey & Company, a worldwide consulting firm. As an associate (1998-2000) and then a project-manager (2000-2002) at McKinsey, she and her teams solved problems for companies in the financial services, biotech and consumer products industries. Prior to working at McKinsey, Emily was a Research Associate in International Security Studies at Yale University (1993-1998) and a consultant at the RAND Corporation. Her publications include The Pivotal States: A New Framework for US Policy in the Developing World (Norton & Co., 1998) and articles in Foreign Affairs and The Journal of Strategic Studies. She has a Ph.D. and an MPhil from Yale, both with the highest distinction. She has an MA from the London School of Economics and a BA from Dartmouth College with honors. Emily lives in Lawrence with her husband and three children.

About Me

Kaylin Dillon, Financial Advisor, joined The Hill Group in 2012. Kaylin brings an analytical approach to the team’s comprehensive wealth management services. Kaylin can help with questions about financial planning, global markets, and investment strategy. She is proficient with issues related to social security, Medicare, trusts, and estates. Before becoming an advisor, Kaylin was an analyst for the group, focusing on portfolio analysis, annuity analysis, investment research and financial planning. Kaylin received a Bachelor’s degree in French (2011), a Bachelor’s degree in East Asian Languages and Cultures (2012), and a Master's degree in East Asian Languages and Cultures (2015) from the University of Kansas. Kaylin has also studied at the Université de Strasbourg in Strasbourg in France, and at Minzu University in Beijing, China. Kaylin is the President of the Seabury Alumni Association at her high school and volunteers with the local United Way. Kaylin lives in Lawrence, Kansas with her husband and daughter.

About Me

Kathy Olds, Portfolio Associate, has been with Morgan Stanley since 1992. She joined The Hill Group in 2009. She has her Series 7, 9, 10, 31, 63, and 66 licenses. In addition to supporting The Hill Group, Kathy has experience in lending, lines of credit, 529 plans, insurance  analysis, annuity review, and she also coordinates running the daily operations of the branch. Kathy studied communications at the University of Kansas and lives in Lawrence with her son. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.

About Me

Amy Clark,  Registered Client Service Associate, joined The Hill Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in July of 2014 and has worked in the financial services industry since 2009. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Business Minor from the University of Kansas in 2011, where she was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Amy is also a graduate of the KU LeaderShape Institute, a program that promotes leading with integrity and a “healthy disregard for the impossible.” Amy is our head of operations, and she should be your first call for assistance with complex administrative questions, outstanding items our group is working on, IRA contributions, IRA distributions and tax-related items. In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and son and taking in the sights and scenes around Lawrence.

About Me

Kristine Flynn, Client Service Associate, joined The Hill Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in September of 2017. Originally from the Chicagoland area in Illinois, Kristine came to Kansas to attend the University of Kansas where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Business Minor in 2017. While in school, she founded an anti-bullying program for Chicago high schools and most recently has been involved in organizing fundraisers for the KU Children’s Miracle Network. With The Hill Group, Kristine focuses on all things account maintenance: account deposits, account opening, account or cash transfers, wires, personal information updates, checkbooks/debit cards, online assistance or account balances. Kristine now lives in Kansas City where she enjoys exploring her new town, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends.
