Investment Philosophy

Our investment philosophy is rooted in leading academic research and industry best practices that incorporate modern portfolio theory as well as behavioral finance and economics. Our Key philosophies for constructing and managing your portfolios are:
    Icon Image
    Planning Based
Your unique short and long term goals drive our investment decisions and wealth management recommendations. Identifying, quantifying and monitoring what you are invested for may determine what you’re invested in. We work with you and your other trusted advisors in developing a comprehensive plan targeted to your specific and evolving goals.
    Icon Image
    Asset Allocation and Diversification
A portfolio’s asset allocation will be the primary determinant of investment results. Many investors spend time looking for the “best” investments rather than the appropriate ones that complement and fit within the overall portfolio. Creating a portfolio with exposure to assets that behave differently in the same economic environment can help enhance the portfolio’s return and reduce its volatility.
    Icon Image
    Long-Term Investments
Over time, the return of an asset class will revert to its long-term average. Effort should be spent on creating an all-weather strategy in the form of a strategic asset allocation to help you achieve long-term investment objectives, with rebalancing and tactical adjustments based on risk mitigation rather than return chasing or other behavioral finance errors.
    Icon Image
    Eliminating Reactionary Decisions
Investors have behavioral biases that may sometimes cause irrational and inefficient investment decisions. Rebalancing to asset allocation targets is one of the methods we have found to consistently “buy low” and “sell high”, thus helping reduce behavioral biases and overweighting to certain assets.

9Investing in the market entails the risk of market volatility. The value of all types of investments may increase or decrease over varying time periods. The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of sustainable or impact investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because sustainability and impact criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
