About Elise M. Laskas
Elise grew up in a household dedicated to helping high net worth families achieve their financial goals. Her father, a successful advisor at Morgan Stanley for over 35 years, introduced Elise to the world of finance at an early age and instilled in her the importance of saving and investing to help ensure financial stability and peace of mind. After graduating from Rosemont College, she began her career at ING Annuities. Four years later, her father asked her to join his team. She jumped at the opportunity to work side-by-side with him and Garrett Hadley, his father’s long-time associate. Upon the passing of her father in 2012, she and Garrett continued as partners, continuing to grow and expand the practice to what it is today.
Elise’s goals-based process focuses on building personal relationships with her clients to understand the specific goals they’ve set from themselves and their families to help create a financial plan. Her approachable style seeks to help clients make well-informed decisions, while maintaining the discipline necessary to navigate today’s challenging markets. Elise’s focus and dedication to excellence has earned her industry recognition throughout her career.
A strong believer in paying it forward, Elise is very involved in giving back to her community. She has been an active member of YWCA Delaware since 2014, previously serving on the finance committee. She is also a former Board member and Treasurer for the organization. Prior to her volunteer activities with the YWCA, Elise was on the local Board for the American Diabetes Association and participated in their annual fundraiser, Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes.
Outside of the office, family comes first. Elise and her husband, Tom, met in high school at Archmere Academy and were married in 2007. They love taking their boys, Jake and Ethan, on family adventures that often include snow skiing in Vermont and surf fishing at Bethany Beach. Elise also enjoys gardening and volunteering at Jake’s school. In the summer, she and her family love to cheer on Jake and his buddies at his Naamans Little League games.

1Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
