Dedicated Equity Plan Specialists are positioned to service and educate on the full suite of workplace benefits and can help you address questions related to grants/awards, vesting events, restricted stock units, and more. Meet The Greenspan Group

About Ira Greenspan

Ira is a Senior Portfolio Manager and founding partner of the Greenspan Group, a highly skilled wealth management practice located in Bethesda, Maryland. A seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience, Ira focuses on helping successful families, nonprofit organizations and corporations achieve their financial goals and encourages use of the firm’s extensive Consulting Services. Ira is proud to be a longstanding member of Morgan Stanley, having been part of the firm’s history since 1997. This tenure enables him to build deep relationships with the firm’s senior leaders and enjoy immediate access to the firm’s global resources.

Ira grew up in a household dedicated to serving others. After earning a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a B.A. degree in Political Science from The American University, Ira began his career working with veterans in both the public and private sectors. He served under the Chairmanship of G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery (D-MS) and Bob Stump (R-AZ) in the U.S. House of Representatives and was actively involved in the Veterans Affairs Committee and Subcommittee on Compensation and Benefits.

Today as a financial advisor, Ira brings his knowledge, experience and sense of duty to the wide range of clients he proudly serves. As the senior advisor of the team, Ira is responsible for the communication and management of all client relationships. His extensive financial experience enables him to help clients achieve their retirement and legacy goals. He has significant experience helping clients protect their assets against risk through estate and insurance strategies, including long-term care.

Originally from Brooklyn, Ira now calls Boyds, Maryland, his home, where he lives with his wife, Marlo, and their two children, Leah and Zachary. A former Brotherhood President at Temple Beth Ami, Ira remains an active congregant. Outside of the office, he enjoys running, photography and watching movies.

This experience inspired him to pursue a profession that could help others create financial independence for themselves and their families now and for generations. As a caring financial advisor, Michael receives great satisfaction knowing he and his colleagues are making a significant impact on the quality of their clients’ lives.

Michael is dedicated to advanced learning for himself and his clients. Throughout his career, he has earned a number of industry designations, including Certified Financial PlannerTM, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor. He also maintains his insurance and managed futures licenses, as well as his Series 7 and 66 licenses. Michael moved from Moscow to the Washington D.C. area at the age of 10. Today, he lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with his wife, Libbie, and two children, Lily and Sasha. A graduate of George Washington University, Michael has been playing tennis since the age of seven and met his wife on the courts at GW.

Maria began her career in financial services in 2006, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2010. Prior to being promoted to Private Banker in 2021, Maria served as the Associate Private Banker supporting Wealth Management offices in Virginia.

Maria is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master of Business Administration. She lives in Fairfax, Virginia with her family.
