    Giving Back

    The Green Orchard Group is proud to serve our community in volunteer activities and by contributing our professional skills to non-profit organizations. 

    Tim is active in supporting healthy outdoor activities for kids and families. With his own passion for winter sports, Tim volunteers to organize races at the local ski hill, an inclusive and affordable option for kids to learn and exercise year-round.

    Karis is a 2018 recipient of the Duluth News Tribune’s “20 Under 40” Award. Winners are chosen based on their contributions to the community and their commitment to using their free time in service of others. Karis was proud to accept the award and notes: “Morgan Stanley encourages their staff to get out in the community. That’s invaluable to me.”

    Aaron works actively in an organization that raises funds and purchases bicycles for children of active duty service members. In past years, upwards of 1500 bikes have been purchased and delivered at a base in his state of Texas. Aaron says: “Since my dad was in the military, I know these families are struggling during a deployment. Working with this organization is grounding.”

      Meet The Green Orchard Group

      About Me

      Tim believes that good investing circles back to having well-defined goals. That’s why he endeavors to put a personalized financial plan in the hands of everyone. “Not all planners do this, but it’s the cornerstone of our practice.”

      Raised in Duluth, Tim was trained as a chemist at UMD, but after years of routine lab work, he yearned for something else. “I’m attracted to knowledge-based work, which investing is, but at its core financial planning is really people-based — and I enjoy that.”

      Tim is married, has twin boys and a dog named Buddy. He gets his family out fishing on Lake Superior, tends to his small family apple orchard and works on his old house. When he’s not doing all that, he trains as a distance runner.

      He is a Certified Financial Planner and holds Series 7 and Series 66 licensures in securities.

      Karis believes that everyone deserves a personalized approach to wealth management: “It’s especially important during major life transitions such as retirement, loss of a family member, inheritance, divorce or sale of a business.” Karis takes care to tend to both the human and technical side of money.

      Before beginning her financial planning career, Karis served 8 years in the US Navy and went on to hold roles in analytics, budget, finance, and operations management in both the private and government sectors. These experiences shaped Karis’ approach to her financial practice and fueled her passion to set up others for financial success: “Everyone should have financial advocate in their corner.”

      Karis is a Minnesota native, US Navy Veteran, Junior League of Duluth member, always-practicing: golfer, yogi, bread baker, gardener, cross country and telemark skier.

      Aaron believes that planning is an important step in any successful journey: “People plan for vacations and house remodels -- they should also plan for a successful retirement. Let’s discover what your retirement dreams are and get you on the right path for achieving those goals.”

      Aaron pursued his career goal of working in finance after attending the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, after working at a small regional firm in St. Paul, Minnesota eventually being recruited at Morgan Stanley in 2010.

      Originally from northern Wisconsin, Aaron now lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two daughters. He has numerous hobbies including travel, scuba diving, escape/puzzle rooms, geocaching, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

      Aaron holds a Family Wealth Advisor title at Morgan Stanley as well as a BS in Finance and Economics, Series 7, Series 66, and Insurance Licenses.

      Jennifer is the first friendly face you will meet within the Green Orchard Group. She will celebrate her 10th anniversary as a Client Service Associate with Morgan Stanley in 2019. Jennifer embodies the value of "Clients First" and provides clients with knowledgeable, friendly service, whether online, on the phone, or in person.

      Jennifer has previously worked as a veterinary associate and holds an Associate Degree from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College. These professional experiences influence Jennifer's commitment to excellent client service.

      A native of Superior, Wisconsin, Jennifer has three children and spends much of her time supporting them in their athletic pursuits. Most weekends, you will find her attending a volleyball, hockey, or baseball game.

      About Me

      Working with clients at Morgan Stanley is a great source of pride for Gary. He sees Morgan Stanley as the best at what they do. Gary has a keen understanding of clients' needs and goals; his extensive background and experience are vital to the Green Orchard Group at Morgan Stanley. He has a passion for providing the most relevant and useful information to clients.

      Gary is a US Air Force Veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. His previous role at Morgan Stanley was Financial Advisor, and today he is a Wealth Management Associate. Gary recently celebrated over 20 years with Morgan Stanley.

      Gary grew up in Cromwell, Minnesota, and lives in Cloquet with his wife. A father of two adult children, Gary spends his free time skiing, working on and writing about muscle cars.
