About Me
After serving as a U.S. Army officer in Germany for four years, Kurt began his financial services career in 1980 as an assistant vice president and financial advisor at Merrill Lynch. He joined a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors in 1990, where he served as branch manager of the Lancaster branch for nine years. He passed his Series 7, 8, 31, 63 and 65 exams and holds several insurance licenses--including life, accident and health. He became a Portfolio Manager in 2007. A portfolio manager is the person responsible for investing client assets, implementing their investment strategy and managing the day-to-day portfolio trading. He became an Accredited Wealth Manager in 2011. This means he has advanced knowledge of key wealth management strategies that may be important to high net worth clients, including investments, retirement planning, insurance, charitable giving, and estate planning, including business succession solutions. He became a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) in 2016. RICP's receive specific training to help clients maintain their customary standard of living throughout retirement, to address income gaps, to create an estate plan and to limit risk.
He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Virginia Military Institute, where he was the top economics graduate for the class of 1976. He is a past director and chairman of the Homestead Village Retirement Community, past director of the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County, past president and current member of the Lancaster Chapter of the American Business Club and past chairman of the environment committee of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Kurt has been married to his wife Cindy since 1976.They have three daughters and eleven grandchildren.
