A Consultative Process

 Charting a prudent course to financial independence requires a well-conceived, personalized financial plan with defined, longterm goals. Our consultative wealth advisory process was developed to help generate that plan. Its key steps are designed to result in a broad, cohesive plan for your financial future.

1 - We will begin by discussing what matters most to you and what you want to accomplish with your wealth. In addition to your finances and investments, we will talk about you, your values, lifestyle, your worries and what you are passionate about.

2 - We will analyze your personal and financial information, assess risks, and identify potential threats to your financial health. Then we will present you with a comprehensive plan to help address your income and cash flow needs.

3 - Our objective approach to implementing your plan will pay special attention to how its various aspects can affect, enhance and integrate with each other. When appropriate, we will suggest seeking additional, in-depth advice on particularly complex planning, financial and family issues we  have identified.

4 - We will review your portfolio together at your request. And when your circumstances change, we will work with you to revise your strategy and reposition your assets to reflect your new needs and goals.

    About Me

    Rick Goldenberg has worked in the financial services industry since 1982. He earned a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation 1989. Rick’s industry tenure and prior experience as a bank trust officer (1982- 1986) provides him with a valuable understanding of “fiduciary responsibility”, “income for life strategies”, “wealth preservation and transfer” as well as “estate planning and administration”. Often, Rick has said that he helps his clients “simplify their lives” by helping them manage their wealth.

    Rick has a Master’s Degree in Administration with emphases in finance from the University of California at Riverside (1985) and a BA in Economics from the University of Redlands (1982). Rick and his wife, Susie, have been married since 1983. They have 3 adult sons. Rick was awarded a 2013 and 2014 Five Star Wealth Manager. Rick was the YMCA Indian Guides Nation Chief and was very active in youth athletics. He enjoys skiing and golf.

    About Me

    Joe was born and raised in Orange County, CA. He grew up in a competitive household where academics and sports took center stage. In high school he played baseball and water polo, receiving college scholarships in both sports. His commitment to preparation combined with a strong work ethic led to his participation on three nationally ranked teams, twice earning All-Conference 1st team honors in baseball.

    In between baseball seasons Joe interned with his dad, Rick Goldenberg, CFP®, Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor and 30 year veteran of Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley. After that, Joe knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He transferred to Irvine and completed his degree in economics at Concordia University, Irvine. Immediately upon graduation he joined the office of Morgan Stanley, Irvine, first as a full time client service associate, learning how to serve his father’s many high net worth clients. He then transitioned to the Client Advisory Center, where he brought his strong work ethic and service orientation to work with many of the under-served clients in Morgan Stanley’s Client Advisory Center. In February 2016, Joe transitioned again to join his father full time as a financial advisor, carrying with him many of the excellent relationships he fostered while in the CAC. Today Joe and Rick serve over 300 clients, helping them navigate the market twists and turns, committed to keeping everyone on track to hit their own unique financial and life goals.

    With 25 over years of experience at Morgan Stanley, Ms. Serber is in a unique position to assist clients with existing and new account services in a professional, yet personalized manner. She is responsible for administrative and operational functions, facilitates estate settlements and distribution procedures, and is at ease interacting with attorneys and CPAs for tax preparation and estate matters.

    Mary majored in business administration at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is a native of Southern California. She enjoys the beach, gardening and spending time with her daughters.
