      About Me

John Coyle leads a team which helps families with significant wealth organize, prioritize and simplify their financial affairs, so that they are able to enjoy their wealth and lead meaningful lives.  Drawing on over 25 years of professional investment experience, John contributes his extensive knowledge in a number of areas that are important to ultra high net worth families.  These areas include estate planning, traditional and alternative investments, risk and liquidity management and philanthropy.

Having invested in alternative asset classes for clients since the 1990s, John has extensive experience investing in all types of alternative investments.  He is frequently called upon to speak to industry groups about investing in alternatives. He is extremely comfortable discussing alternative asset classes with clients and educating them on this topic.  John believes that almost every client should have a healthy allocation to non-traditional and non-correlated asset classes, in order to improve the risk-reward composition of their portfolios.

John has availed himself of numerous opportunities to expand the range of capabilities and expertise he can offer his clients.  He attained the Family Wealth Director title within Morgan Stanley, a distinction that fewer than 400 of the firm’s 17,000+ advisors have attained.  This achievement allows the team to provide an extensive range of services that are reserved for a select few high net worth families.  John has also earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (a.k.a. CIMA) designation, from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

John lives in Cold Spring Harbor and is actively involved in the swimming, biking and running communities. He is a former competitive Ironman distance triathlete and has completed triathlons consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bicycle race, followed by a full 26.2-mile marathon.  John is also an executive committee member for Swim Across America organization, which has raised over $50 million for cancer research, to date.  He personally raises funds for this organization by swimming across the Long Island Sound each summer.
