Our Story and Services

Established in 1981, The Ennis Group has a long-standing history of helping clients navigate complex financial decisions across generations. Our team works with business owners, startup founders, entrepreneurs, venture-backed companies, and families seeking guidance around business growth, liquidity events, intergenerational wealth planning, and long-term financial strategy.

We understand that for many founders and owners, personal wealth is deeply connected to the life cycle of their company. Whether preparing for a sale, evaluating strategic opportunities, managing concentrated wealth, or planning for life after an exit, we help clients align business decisions with broader personal and financial goals. Our approach is designed to bring clarity to complex moments, helping clients think through both the immediate implications of major transitions and the opportunities they may create for the future.

Central to our process is comprehensive financial planning. We work with clients to understand their objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, time horizon, and legacy goals. From there, we help devise an appropriate asset allocation strategy, implement investment recommendations, and monitor portfolios over time as circumstances, markets, and priorities evolve. Our team also incorporates tax-aware investment strategies and coordinates with clients’ other trusted advisors, including attorneys, accountants, and tax professionals, to help support a cohesive and well-informed planning process.

The Ennis Group also has experience working with alternative investments, offering clients access to a broader range of strategies where appropriate based on their goals, qualifications, and overall financial picture. By integrating traditional investment management, alternative investment strategies, financial planning, and coordination with outside advisors, we strive to help clients make informed decisions before, during, and after important financial milestones.

At every level, we bring together a rich blend of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. We believe this diversity helps us better understand the needs of entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, and families across industries and stages of growth. It also strengthens our ability to think creatively, challenge conventional approaches, and explore thoughtful solutions for today’s evolving financial environment.

As a dynamic team with deep industry experience, The Ennis Group is committed to helping clients turn business success into lasting financial strength. Through disciplined planning, thoughtful investment guidance, and a clear understanding of each client’s priorities, we help business owners, entrepreneurs, and families plan with confidence for today and for future generations.

Our team brings a thoughtful, structured approach to exit planning. We help clients evaluate a range of potential exit pathways based on their unique goals, business circumstances, and long-term financial objectives. The following provides an overview of how we approach a later-stage company's progression toward a potential exit, including sales to an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), a strategic acquirer, or a private equity investor, as well as IPOs and recapitalizations. Please contact our team with any questions or to discuss how these considerations may apply to your situation.
