Leaving a lasting legacy.

We provide perspective and financial guidance as you take on new challenges. As we begin to work together, we are confident you will come to regard us as trusted stewards, helping you make informed decisions on any financial issue you face – today and down the road.
The following core values distinguish us from other advisory teams and serve as the foundation of our practice.
    • Caring Relationships
We believe that successful wealth management begins with personalized service and attention. We invite potential clients to meet with us to share their needs and expectations. We enjoy working with individuals and families who seek the kind of long-term, fully engaged relationships we value. The bond we form is vital to our mission and it is our hope that it spans generations.
    • A Team Approach
Our priority is to help you prepare for all of life’s milestones and be your first call for all things financial. We work in partnership with your accountant, attorney and other professionals to build a comprehensive plan that encompasses all aspects of your life.
    • Personalized Strategies
Each portfolio is individually managed on a fully discretionary basis to help meet your requirements for growth, income and preservation of capital. Our compensation isn’t tied to specific investments, so you can be assured we always put your interests first.
    • A Commitment to Education
Financial literacy for you and your family is fundamental to our practice and helps ensure continuity as wealth moves from one generation to the next. An important part of our role is to provide ongoing education about the markets and the strategies we recommend. We also believe it is our responsibility to assist your parents and children as they face important financial challenges. We are here to answer critical questions that may impact the long-term wealth of your extended family.<.p>
    • Outstanding Service
Your satisfaction is our priority. We seek to accomplish this by working with a select group of clients. This allows us to dedicate the time, attention and service they each deserve. We believe we earn your trust not only through the quality of our advice and investments, but through the excellence with which we strive to deliver them.

    Our Commitment to You

Our process begins and ends with listening. We ask questions about your goals, your dreams and your worries . . . and then we listen. It’s an ongoing process through which we understand all we can about you, your family and your finances.

Our approach enables us to develop a detailed financial roadmap that reflects who you are and where you want to go. It also helps us to anticipate any blind spots along the way, so we can address them head-on. Our mission is to put your financial house in order and to keep it on course.
    • Step 1: Listen and learn
Understand what is important to you and your family
Identify the values that shape your decisions
Recognize any challenges unique to your situation
      Articulate your financial priorities
    • Step 2: Analyze and assess your finances
Collect financial statements, tax returns and other documents
Review your current and future financial situation
      Analyze current investment portfolio
Identify any shortfalls or the impact of unexpected life events
    • Step 3: Navigate the financial markets through a tailored plan
Develop a personalized investment plan, utilizing a breadth of world-class investments offered through an outside portfolio manager with whom we partner to manage your assets
Present your plan, prioritizing activities and establishing timelines
Implement the investment plan as we finalize other strategies; these may include long-term care, estate planning solutions and risk management techniques
    • Step 4: Deepen our relationship through ongoing service
Set up tools to provide convenient access to your accounts
Apply due diligence process to evaluate performance

Tax laws are complex and subject to change. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC (“Morgan Stanley”) , its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors do not provide tax or legal advice and are not “fiduciaries” (under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code or otherwise) with respect to the services or activities described herein except as otherwise provided in writing by Morgan Stanley and/or as described at www.morganstanley.com/disclosures/dol. Individuals are encouraged to consult their tax and legal advisors (a) before establishing a retirement plan or account, and (b) regarding any potential tax, ERISA and related consequences of any investments made under such plan or account.

Typically, a retirement plan participant leaving an employer has the following four options (and may engage in a combination of these options depending on their employment status, age and the availability of the particular option):

Cash out the account value and take a lump sum distribution from the current plan subject to mandatory 20% withholding, as well as potential taxes and 10% penalty
OR to continue tax deferred growth and:

Leave the assets in the former employer’s plan (if permitted)
Rollover the retirement savings into the new employer’s qualified plan, if one is available and rollovers are permitted
Rollover the retirement savings into an IRA

Other factors in making a rollover decision- include (among other things) the differences in: (1) Investment Options, (2) Fees and Expenses, (3) Services, (4) Penalty-Free Withdrawals, (5) Creditor Protection in Bankruptcy and from Legal Judgments, (6) Required Minimum Distributions or “RMDs”, and (7) the Tax Treatment of Employer Stock

      Meet The Ehrlich Wallace Group

      About Me

I am a Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor and founding partner of The Ehrlich Wallace Group at Morgan Stanley. As a financial professional for more than 30 years, I have dedicated my entire career to helping financially successful individuals and families solve their financial challenges. I focus on wealth management solutions and fixed income strategies for high net worth clients, with a special emphasis on retirees and those planning for retirement. My comprehensive approach includes a thorough planning process and a commitment to providing outstanding service and advice.

A graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where I earned a Bachelor of Administration in Business Management and Organization, I began my career in 1987 at Halpert, Oberst & Company, a firm focused on municipal bonds. It is here where I honed my skills in fixed income portfolios. I also had the opportunity to work at Ferris, Baker Watts and Bank of America/Merrill Lynch before joining the Morgan Stanley family in 2011. These diverse experiences have given me a wide range of economic and financial skills that I continue to share with my clients today.

Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, I now live in Rockville. In my leisure time, I enjoy traveling, dancing and spending time with my family.
