About James Hallman

As a Senior Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley, Jim Hallman brings an extensive depth of industry knowledge and experience to a select group of wealthy individuals, organizations and foundations. For more than 30 years, he has helped his clients navigate through the maze of complex financial issues surrounding their specific circumstances and matched them with some of the very best investment resources available to help meet their financial needs.

Jim began his career in financial services with Merrill Lynch in 1990 and served as the Resident Director of Santa Barbara. He and his team joined Morgan Stanley in 2017.  Jim graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics, and an emphasis in finance and tax. He resides in Santa Barbara with his wife, Kelly.

About Me

Fred Przekop is a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Przekop has been working for nearly three decades as a finance executive, with the last two decades managing investment portfolios and providing customized wealth management solutions for high net worth individuals, nonprofit organizations and foundations. Prior to his role at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Przekop was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager at First Republic Investment Management. He also spent time as a Portfolio Manager at Starbuck Tisdale & Associates, which was acquired by First Republic in 2002. Mr. Przekop began his career as an institutional fixed income analyst and portfolio manager. Active in his community, Mr. Przekop is a former volunteer for the Big Brothers program and currently devotes time to the UC Santa Barbara Guardian Scholar foster youth program. He also served on the board of the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara where he chaired the investment committee for five years. Mr. Przekop holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA society of Los Angeles. Mr. Przekop is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, and received his MBA in Finance from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.

About Lashawn Hayes

As a Portfolio Associate, Lashawn Hayes's primary focus is on providing optimal client service and strategic and operational support to The Coast Village Group and our clients. With more than fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry, she is a great benefit to the team and a tremendous resource to clients. She is the first point of contact for many client questions and on a daily basis she opens and monitors new and managed accounts, handles operational matters and executes non-solicited buy and sell orders. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Lashawn worked for Crowell, Weedon & Co. and Merrill Lynch. She holds her Series 7 and 66.
Lashawn grew up in Santa Barbara, California, where she attended Bishop Diego High School, Santa Barbara City College and the University of California, Santa Barbara. While away from the office, she enjoys time with her husband and three children and extended family and friends. On weekends, if she is not traveling to watch her children play sports, she enjoys hiking, going to concerts and vacationing with her family.

About Karla Lynn

Karla Lynn is a Director of Business Strategy with Morgan Stanley. In this role she plays a key role in managing both the client support and operations needs of The Coast Village Group. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Karla spent 10 years at First Republic Investment Management as a Client Relationship Director managing client service and operations for Fred’s team.
Karla is a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She holds both her Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses. While away from the office Karla enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the Santa Barbara lifestyle, travelling, and playing pickle ball with friends.

About Ethan Shultz

As a Registered Client Service Associate, Ethan's primary focus is to monitor different aspects of client accounts, such as allocation, maturing securities, cash inflows, and much more. The team will meet on these topics to ensure our client's investment strategies are diligently executed. Ethan is a member of the Santa Barbara Young Professionals Club and holds an active FINRA Series 7 and 66. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking, camping, spending time at the beach, and making frequent trips to the Eastern Sierras to ski or backpack.
