Jerrad has crafted an investment practice over 30 years, emphasizing fewer but more profound client relationships. Beyond mere investing, he provides comprehensive financial insights, embodying the intimacy of a family office paired with the robustness of a global wealth management firm. Collaborating closely with estate attorneys, CPAs, and other advisors, he assists clients in the intricate world of financial management. A native Californian with a background in Agricultural Business Management from California Polytechnic State University, Jerrad's professional journey includes seventeen years at Merrill Lynch before moving to Morgan Stanley in 2008. Outside of work, Jerrad is deeply rooted in the community, supporting institutions like the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Lotusland.
Jeannie's 30-year career has been marked by her unwavering commitment to guiding clients through life's pivotal moments, ensuring they harness and bequeath their wealth efficiently. A believer in rendering exceptional service with a personalized touch, she has collaborated with a myriad of clients ranging from entrepreneurs to families. Jeannie's professional narrative began at Merrill Lynch, moved through Wells Fargo Advisors, and found its recent home at Morgan Stanley Montecito in 2023. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Jeannie's community involvement is evident. Alongside her family, she supports causes like the Santa Barbara Zoo and the Museum of Natural History. Furthermore, her dedication shines through her past roles on local boards such as the National Charity League, Boys Team Charity and Girls Inc.
Together, residing in Montecito, Jerrad and Jeannie cherish family values, evident in their involvement with their four adult children living in Los Angeles. About Jerrad Burford
Working with individuals and families, as well as select endowments and foundations, Jerrad’s advice extends beyond investing to encompass both sides of a client’s personal balance sheet. In effect, he offers the personalized advantages of a family office within the solid boundaries of a global wealth management company. He works closely with his clients’ estate attorneys, CPAs, and other advisors to help clients to navigate the increasingly complex arena of financial management and reach all of their life's goals.
A native Californian, Jerrad grew up on a ranch in central California. He earned a degree in Agricultural Business Management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. After graduation he joined Merrill Lynch and spent 17 years working with clients and managing the Financial Advisor training program. Jerrad moved to Smith Barney (a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm) in 2008 when Bank of America purchased Merrill Lynch.
Outside of work, Jerrad is married to his wife, Jeannie, and is very involved in the activities of his four children. Jerrad is a longtime supporter of Santa Barbara High School's Multimedia Arts & Design (MAD) Academy, SBHS Aquatic Boosters, btc Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Lotusland. He enjoys planning trips to new places, keeping up on the latest films and TV shows and hiking in the local foothills of Santa Barbara.

About Jeanine J Burford
Jeannie takes pride in providing her clients with exceptional service and personalized attention. She works with a diverse group of successful entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals, families, and individuals, including many women.
Jeannie began her career at Merrill Lynch in 1992 and had been with Wells Fargo Advisors since 1997 prior to joining Morgan Stanley in July of 2023. She is a focused, compassionate, high-energy advisor who deeply values her relationships and shared histories with clients. Jeannie joined Morgan Stanley in partnership with her husband, Jerrad Burford, himself with over 30 years’ experience in the financial industry, in the Morgan Stanley Montecito office.
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Jeannie lives in Montecito. She and her husband, Jerrad, have four adult children. As a family they believe in giving back to their community and are intentional in making service a family affair. They currently support the Santa Barbara Zoo, Lotusland, MAD Academy at Santa Barbara High School and the Museum of Natural History. Jeannie has held numerous local board positions, including National Charity League, Girls Inc., Safety Town and the Santa Barbara chapter of Boys Team Charity where she was a founding member. She and her family enjoy the beach, hiking and traveling.

He earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and his B.A. from the University at Albany, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude.
Throughout law school, Larry was a personal trainer and amateur triathlete. He stills enjoy exercise & strength training, as well as playing golf & tennis. He lives in Rancho Santa Fe, California with his wife Erin, and twin daughters Mary & Maggie. They also enjoy the company of their miniature Schnauzer, Harrison.

After carefully reviewing the nominations submitted, the Steering Council determined a slate of finalists in each award category. The primary contacts at each of MMI’s 207 member firms were eligible to vote to determine the winners. Nominations were reviewed and evaluated to determine finalists June 2024 - July 2024. Finalists were voted on to determine a winner August 2024. MMI/Barron’s does not receive compensation from the participating firms in exchange for the award and Morgan Stanley did not pay a fee to MMI/Barron’s in exchange for its receipt of the award. 2) Industry’s top tax-optimization technology refers to tax management capabilities developed by Eaton Vance and Parametric, affiliates of Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley is a leading provider of direct indexing strategies. According to Cerulli Associates’ Q1 2026 Managed Account Edition, Morgan Stanley ranked first among 15 firms in Direct Index SMA assets under management based on reported industry assets. The ranking reflects scale of assets and does not evaluate tax outcomes, performance, or quality of technology. Tax outcomes will vary and are not guaranteed.
3) The Celent Model Wealth Manager 2025 Awards for Data and Analytics and Essential and Emerging Technologies were granted to Morgan Stanley following an evaluation process conducted by Celent analysts. To be considered for this award, Morgan Stanley submitted Model Wealth Manager 2025 Nomination Award Worksheets to Celent on or about January 30, 2025. Celent judged each submission on three criteria: (1) Measurable business benefits of live initiatives; (2) degree of innovation relative to the industry; and (3) technology or implementation excellence. In order to win, the initiatives must demonstrate clear business benefits, innovation, and technology or implementation excellence.
