Meet The Century Wealth Management Group
About Michael J Moran
Michael J. Moran is a Senior Vice President -- Wealth Management, Portfolio Manager -- Director and Financial Specialist in Orland Park, Illinois. He has more than 28 years of experience in the securities industry, 15 years with Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney, a predecessor firm.
Michael has a solid reputation for delivering an uncommon level of exceptional client service. He has been meeting with clients on a regular basis for the past 20 year’s weather it is in the office or at the kitchen table. Additionally we have hosted regular conference calls to give individuals access to some of the brightest minds analyzing the economy, financial markets and individual securities.
“I am deeply committed to providing clients with the information they need to be knowledgeable, confident and comfortable with their carefully curated portfolio,” he says.
Michael was attracted to the business early in life. During his youth, he and his sister enjoyed listening to his father talk about the stock market and his job as a Financial Services Industry. “I realized back then that his was not a nine-to-five job,” Michael recalls. “You have to always find ways to keep clients informed and ensure they remain comfortable.”
Thanks to his father, Michael was inspired to develop a commitment to serve others and nurture a strong work ethic. Both he and sister would become Financial Advisors.
After graduating from the University of Illinois College of Commerce and Business Administration, Michael began his career in the business with Prudential Securities in the early 1990s. He joined Smith Barney in 2005.
Over the years, he has built an impressive clientele, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, small businesses, retirement plan investors and retirees.
In maintaining the family tradition of keeping clients well-informed, in 2020 alone, a year in which business and markets were severely affected by Covid-19, Michael managed to host 14 conference calls for his clients via Zoom meetings. He not only had highly respected speakers from Morgan Stanley but also well-regarded voices from other major financial advisory firms.
Michael is constantly looking for new topics for his conference calls, a key reason he reads Morgan Stanley’s research regularly. When he isn’t focused on serving others, Michael spends quality time with his lovely wife, Tracey, and their two boys, Jack and Ryan. He also enjoys travel and golf. The family makes its home in Homer Glen, Illinois.
