Retirement Capabilities and Expertise

Planning for retirement has never been easy, but in recent years, it's become increasingly difficult. Chances are, you're not covered by a defined benefit pension plan at work that provides known income payments at retirement. These plans have largely been replaced by a 401(k) or other defined contribution plans that put burden on you to make the right investment decisions.

That's where we come in.
    Full Service
While many retirement planning strategies simply construct portfolios of assets based on an investor's risk tolerance and measure performance against benchmarks, we additionally consider other issues that can impact your ability to retire.
    Target Liquidity Model
To help retirees meet the challenges of retirement, we have developed a strategy called the, "Custom Time Segmented Bucketing" approach. This allows us to divide your portfolio into separate pools of assets that can be used sequentially to meet retirement expenses.
Structuring a Well Rounded Planning Approach
In order to fully prepare for retirement, you should consider factors such as personal beliefs, inflation, taxes, fees, and responsiveness to the market.
    Our Process
To get strarted maximizing the value of this framework, tracking your progress and personal goal, and making an individualized financial plan, you can contact a financial advisor. To get started, reach out and we can set up some time for a meeting.

7The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.

9Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
