About Arthur Caruso Jr.

I have been in the financial services industry for 35 years specifically in Wealth Management. I started my career at UBS in 1989 and our investment team moved to Morgan Stanley in August 2008. During my career I have worked tirelessly with individuals, families and businesses-to deliver services and solutions that help build, preserve and manage wealth. I understand our clients aspirations, and I am as devoted to their goals as they are.

Our ideal client is any individual or family who is a long-term value investor and seeks a prudent place to invest their capital. We also only seek investors who have high ethical standards and who share our core values and vision.

We are value investors first and foremost. We seek to offer our clients a platform to invest their capital, and seek to provide them consistent returns over the long-term. We believe that value investing is the best means to preserve capital and to continue to provide adequate growth. We invest across the capital structure, asset classes, market caps, industries and geographies. We are willing to hold cash and we strongly believe that cash is a “viable” investment option. Preservation of capital is as important as return of capital.

The foundation of our investment process begins with a deep discovery process. The discovery process and client consultation will provide us the framework to build the customized investment portfolio. Once the account is implemented quarterly reviews and open dialogue will fuel the relationship. We seek to communicate to our clients often, openly and honestly. We view communication as the key to our relationship. In addition to our service our clients value our ability and willingness to admit mistakes early. Our clients realize that mistakes will happen and when they do we own them and we learn from them.

Our investment team works our hardest for each and every client to provide them the information we would want if our roles were reversed.

5Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
