Our Story

Today, successful, intelligent investors expect a higher level of service and advice than our industry made available even as recent as ten or fifteen years ago. Today’s professional relationships are built on trust, care and long-term investment relationship, not just on buying and selling products. The Argon Group enhances our client’s experience in working with us by providing monthly newsletters, bi-monthly magazines, weekly market updates and making sure that we speak to you on a regular basis. We interact with each of our clients at least 50-70 times a year, whether by mail, prints, phone and/or in person.

We view all our clients as swimmers in a vast ocean of uncertain tides and waves. As their lifeguards, we are always monitoring the waters. We work hard to educate, protect and guide you to shore. We customize our approach to each client by actively listening to your needs and concerns. Once we understand what a client wants, we craft an investment strategy designed to help you navigate through the market and the economic environment that contains hundreds of unpredictable forces. We try to account for many of these through proper diversification and asset allocation. Over time, this strategy has potential to enhance your chances of achieving your financial goals and to ride out most storms.

We primarily serve individuals, families and businesses with $1 million or more in investable assets. We focus on portfolio and risk management strategies designed to address growth, protection, preservation and distribution of each client’s holdings during his or her life or after death.

It takes skill and experience in assuming the responsibility for guiding families carefully through the complex issues of wealth management. Over the past 25 years, we think we have succeeded in helping people achieve their most critical goals. Our hard work is often rewarded by enthusiastic client referrals, which is how we like to do business.

Asset allocation and diversification do not guarantee a profit or protect against a loss in a declining financial market.

Retirement Navigation Process

If you and your family had a discussion three years from today, what has to have happened in a personal, professional and financial sense for you to be happy with your progress over those three years?

Take a look at the steps below to get a better sense of the important factors that affect your retirement.
    Icon Image
    Step 1: Assets
Your assets may include, 401(K), 403(b), 457 plans, lump sum pensions, real estate, investment accounts, bank accounts, stock options, stock purchase plans, and business assets.
    Icon Image
    Step 2: Liabilities
In general, we advise our clients to be debt free in retirement. Before you retire, it's important to examine all your liabilities.

Liabilities may include; mortgages, lines of credit, student loans, vehicle loans, credit cards, and business loans.
    Icon Image
    Step 3: Income
In retirement, you'll likely need to generate enough income to maintain your current lifestyle. You may have multiple sources of fixed income including pension payments and Social Security. You may also have other sources of fixed income as well during retirement.

Your retirement income gap is the amount above your fixed income needed to live on. The additional amount will likely need to be generated by your investments. We can design a custom retirement income plan for you and your family.
    Icon Image
    Step 4: Expenses
Knowing what your expenses will be in retirement is critical. During the accumulation years of your life, savings rates are the key to success. During retirement however, withdrawal rates matter the most.

Our technology can help you manage and track your expenses to help make sure your plan remains successful throughout retirement.
    Icon Image
    Step 5: Risk Management
It's important to make sure your plan has the proper guardrails to keep you and your family on track.

Some of these guardrails include insurance planning. We recommend reviewing your term, whole life, or long term care insurance needs prior to retirement.
    Icon Image
    Step 6: Estate Planning Strategies
As you approach retirement, it's important to make sure your estate planning strategy is aligned with your investment and financial plans.

You may consider hiring an estate attorney who can help design wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and medical directives.
    Icon Image
    Step 7: Assembling Your Team
Before and during retirement, it's important your personal tax advisor, personal estate planning attorney, and financial advisor communicate regularly and operate as a virtual team on your behalf. Your virtual team should meet with you and your family at least annually.
    Icon Image
    Step 8: Continued Monitoring
Approaching and during retirement, it's important to check up on your investment and financial plans to make sure they are on track.

Our technology can help track and manage your plans to help ensure they are successful throughout retirement.

About Magnus F Virgin

After moving to the U.S. from Sweden in 1991 to attend Florida International University, Magnus Virgin was working on his Master of Science in Finance when, in 1994, a friend who owned a small brokerage firm in Miami Beach offered him a job while he completed his education. When the firm sold in 1996, Magnus left, moving on to positions at larger firms such as Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Investments. He joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2009 as a Director of Investments and OMEGA Portfolio Manager. In February 2013 he resigned from Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and joined Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Boca Raton, as a Senior Vice President & Portfolio Manager.

Magnus holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) and the Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM (CRPS®) designations from the College of Financial Planning. He believes that these accomplishments enhanced his knowledge and his investment discipline while the continuing education requirements help keep him informed of new rules and topics to pass along to his clients.

Magnus served in the Swedish military and continues to be active with veteran causes in the U.S. such as House in the Woods and AHero USA. Both organizations work with U.S. veterans and their families to aid them in recovery from physical wounds and psychological trauma by creating therapeutic, recreational, and educational activities. Other charitable organizations he supports are Pace Center for Girls and the American Cancer Society. Magnus also teaches MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), and Judo at American Top Team Deerfield Beach.

17Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
