The Aegis Group

Our name is inspired by the Greek word aigis, which means “something that offers protection.” In some mythological stories, it was a shield carried by Zeus. In others, it was an animal skin worn over the garments of the gods as extra protection. The modern concept of doing something “under someone’s aegis” means doing something under the protection of a powerful, knowledgeable or benevolent source.

At The Aegis Group, we follow one simple rule: Help protect the endowment wealth of your institution.
Our Investment Philosophy
Our commitment to our clients and their success is the cornerstone of our practice. We come to work every day engaged in helping make a true difference in the lives of our clients and the organizations they proudly support. To that end, we are focused on the following core elements of our investment philosophy.
Core Elements
• Action should be taken through discipline, not emotion.
• We believe managing total portfolio risk is essential to helping achieve long-term objectives.
• Open architecture structure, which frees us to recommend any available products and services that are appropriate for each of our clients’ specific situations and goals.
• Endowment management that seeks to provide short-term stability and long-term sustainability.
• Actively managing asset allocation, portfolio composition and manager selection can potentially enhance returns.
• Active risk budgeting can enhance the potential value derived from hiring investment managers.
• Blending active and passive investments can help improve investment results, manage costs and refine the management of active risk.
Morgan Stanley
We combine Morgan Stanley’s intellectual capital and global reach with our own insight to create and deliver targeted institutional solutions. We are confident our team is qualified to anticipate and help address your particular financial goals.

    Impact Investing:
Investing with impact is drawing significant attention as it becomes increasingly evident that integrating an organization's mission into it's investment strategy can manage risk, unlock new opportunities, and provide competitive returns all while making a positive impact on the world. Yet there has been little focus on helping institutional investors evaluate the impact readiness of one crucial part of the investment eco-system; their institutional consultants.
