Welcome to Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management and Team 566.  With offices in downtown San Francisco and Menlo Park, our team manages investments for a select group of entrepreneurs, executives, and investors who have created exceptional wealth by taking risks and building businesses.  Our mission is simple:  Preserve and conservatively grow our clients' wealth over the long term.  We have over 100 years of combined experience1 and have helped guide our clients through over 60 corporate liquidity events.  We combine this important experience with Morgan Stanley’s vast global resources, sophisticated risk management strategies, and advanced open-architecture platform to construct portfolios customized to fit each client’s unique circumstances. About Me

Rich joined the Firm’s Private Wealth Management Division in 1990, after nine years at Merrill Lynch, where he began his career as a financial advisor in the individual investor group.

Rich manages over $1Bn in client assets, as of 12/31/2013, with a focus on global and domestic equities. His success has been recognized in Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors List annually since its inception in 2005. Rich was ranked #34 in Barron’s Magazine 2017 Top California Financial Advisors and #119 in Forbes Magazine 2016 Top Wealth Managers Nationally.

He is an avid golfer. He is a former San Francisco City Amateur Champion and recently participated in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Tournament for the fourth time.

Rich received his BS degree in Finance from the University of Oregon in 1981. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of The Charles H. Lundquist College of Business at the University.

Rich resides in Menlo Park, CA and is the father of two children.

About Me

Tim began his career with the Firm in 1988. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he was a financial advisor in Bank of America’s Private Banking Group.

Tim works with our clients who share common issues as it pertains to concentrated equity positions, namely corporate founders/executives and venture capital partners.  In addition, Tim oversees the alternative investment component of client allocations.  Specifically, Tim evaluates exposures to hedge funds, private equity and venture capital commitments, real assets, and various Morgan Stanley co-investment opportunities.  Tim was ranked #36 in Barron’s Magazine 2017 Top California Financial Advisors and among Forbes Magazine Top 1200 Advisors Nationally (#172) in 2016. 

Tim serves as honorary board member for Larkin Street Youth Services, a non-profit organization addressing the needs of at-risk youth in San Francisco.

Tim earned his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business in 1987 and received a BA degree in Business Economics from University of California Los Angeles in 1983.

About Me

Steve joined Morgan Stanley in 1993. Prior to Morgan Stanley, he worked for First Winthrop, a Boston based real estate investment bank specializing in buying assets from the Resolution Trust Corporation.

Steve works with entrepreneurs and private companies to manage issues surrounding initial public offerings or merger transactions. He formulates pre-liquidity strategies that may encompass tax and estate planning as well as diversification strategies through 10b5-1 plans and hedging transactions. He also oversees the asset allocation process for clients.  Steve owns and operates a ranch in Eastern Oregon, bringing commodity, agricultural, and alternative energy expertise to the team.  Steve was ranked #47 in Barron’s Magazine 2011 Top California Financial Advisors.

Steve is a Trustee of the Bay Area Discovery Museum.  He serves on the board of the Olympic Club Foundation and cochairman of Town School Annual Fund.

Steve is a graduate of Oregon State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986.

About Me

Bill joined Morgan Stanley in 1994. From 1986-1990, he served in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer, based primarily at Ft. Lewis, WA. From 1990-1994, he worked for Amdahl Corporation, a mainframe computer manufacturer based in Sunnyvale, California.

Bill manages our team’s domestic and international fixed income exposure. He also focuses on currencies, commodities, and alternative energy. Bill was ranked #39 in Barron’s Magazine 2013 Top California Financial Advisors.

Bill enjoys the outdoors and has pursued a variety of activities in this area including golf, skiing, and triathlons where he has completed three Ironman distance events. He is active with Take Stock in Children, a group focused on providing higher educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged children in his home state of Florida.

Bill did his undergraduate work at Harvard University, graduating with a BA in Economics in 1986. He was an ROTC scholarship student and played varsity football.

About Me

Mike joined Morgan Stanley in 2009 after 4 years as an advisor with Merrill Lynch.  Prior to starting his career in financial services, he worked in management and sales roles for Pitney Bowes/Imagistics International. In 2002 he served as an intern for a US Senator in Washington D.C., and after college, he worked on local, state and national political campaigns in North Carolina, Washington D.C., Colorado, Nevada and California.

Mike works to identify emerging private companies with unique and disruptive technologies, products, and services.  He focuses primarily on software, internet, mobile, and clean technology companies.  He assists company CFOs with strategic initiatives surrounding pre-liquidity planning solutions for private financings, initial public offerings or merger transactions.

Mike serves on the nominating committee for the SF Business Times and Larkin Street CFO of the Year Awards. He is also active with Friends of Larkin Street in San Francisco.
 
Mike is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he obtained a BA in Political Science in 2002.

About Me

Scot Meyer joined Morgan Stanley in 2012 and serves as an analyst. In this role, Scot assists in driving the team's3business development3efforts by identifying emerging companies with unique and disruptive technologies. He works with executives and early employees in executing on the initial stages of pre-liquidity planning, employee stock-option strategy, and financial modeling He is also responsible for guiding clients through the process of authoring and implementing 10B5-1 plans.

Scot graduated with a B.S. in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy from Duke University. While attending Duke, Scot was elected as a captain for the Varsity Men's Lacrosse Team, winning an NCAA National Championship in 2010. He remains active in the lacrosse community through coaching3with various Bay Area youth organizations.

In his spare time, Scot serves as an Associate Board Member for The League to Save Lake Tahoe ("Keep Tahoe Blue"), has been a3nominating committee member for the Larkin Street CFO of the Year Awards since 2015, and participates as a member of Duke's Alumni Admissions Advisory Committee. Scot resides in San Francisco, CA and enjoys spending time skiing, hiking, and relaxing3in the Lake Tahoe area.
