James Schneiderman, Executive Director, Wealth Management
James Schneiderman runs an awarded wealth management practice from the Beverly Hills, CA branch at Morgan Stanley. He serves high net worth clients in major metropolitan areas including Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC, New York City and throughout Southern California.
James and our staff in the Beverly Hills office are best described as a boutique wealth management team at a global financial institution that offers family office wealth management and investment services to high net worth individuals and families throughout the United States.
Forbes Magazine has repeatedly ranked James Schneiderman a top advisor, naming him to the Forbes Best In State Wealth Managers list (2018 - 2021) and twice ranking James in Forbes list of America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors (2017 - 2020). In addition to Forbes, James was named a Financial Times Top Advisor in 2015 in the FT 401 Rankings, and most recently On Wall Street Magazine named him in their 2019 listing of Top 40 Advisors Under 40.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, James worked in government relations for an advocacy group representing Fortune 500 companies pursuing their international tax, trade, and finance policy interests before the federal government and members of the foreign diplomatic corps. He received his MA from The Middlebury Institute for International Studies, and his BA from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
James is an American literature enthusiast with a particular affinity for the works of John Steinbeck. In May 2014 he was cited by Financial Advisor IQ, a Financial Times publication, in “Books That Changed Advisors' Lives” for his appreciation of Steinbeck’s writing and its impact on his success as a Financial Advisor. James finds joy in random acts of charitable giving, yet he is also personally committed to supporting veteran-related charities in honor of his friend and college roommate, a Marine killed in action in 2006 while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

4Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.

6An investment in an exchange-traded fund (ETF) involves risks similar to those of investing in a broadly based portfolio of equity securities traded on exchange in the relevant securities market, such as market fluctuations caused by such factors as economic and political developments, changes in interest rates and perceived trends in stock prices. The investment return and principal value of ETF investments will fluctuate, so that an investor’s ETF shares, if or when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost.
Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of an exchange-traded fund (ETF) before investing. The prospectus contains this and other information about the ETF. To obtain a prospectus, contact your Financial Advisor or visit the ETF company’s website. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.
