My Story and Services

For more than 25 years, Shawn Greseth has been helping investors and their families build confidence within their financial decisions to help achieve their unique investment goals. He focuses in discretionary portfolio management, discovering each investor’s values, and stress testing customized investment portfolios. He enjoys working with families to help reduce the fear and anxiety associated with making critical investment decisions. Shawn’s process of uncovering what each investor truly values helps enable him to work to deliver desired results in various market conditions.

Over the years, Shawn has aimed to build a strong reputation within the industry for helping investors understand the complex and irrational nature of today’s financial markets. This skill set empowers him to help investors remain calm during market fluctuation so they will not compromise long-term results.

Before launching his own practice, Shawn worked for several well-respected financial institutions, including Merrill Lynch, Carlson Companies, GE Capital, McGladrey and Pullen Coopers, and Lybrand. Shawn along with his team joins Morgan Stanley in 2024 to further his practice.

Above all else, Shawn is a family man who loves spending time with his wife, kids, extended family, and friends. During the summer months, you will probably find Shawn out on the lake surrounded by friends and family, likely enjoying some good food after a day of boating. Shawn is also an avid outdoorsman, and some of his favorite hobbies include fishing, biking, archery, waterfowl hunting, and big game hunting. In the winter, he also enjoys cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

    Employee Stock & Stock Options

Executives today are increasingly compensated with stock or stock options. However, exercising stock options presents a number of difficult—and sometimes divergent—choices. Accordingly, it is critical that an executive understand the risk of investing financial assets and the potential reward of preferential income tax treatment.

Approach

Discovery Process
Investing the time to learn about you and your family; your assets and liabilities and the risk exposures, enables us to formulate strategies and customize the relationship to your needs.
Formulation of Tax, Trust and Estate Strategy
Working with your tax and legal advisors, we help analyze your income and estate tax circumstances to identify and tailor planning techniques that may be used to address your objectives.
Creation of Customized Strategic Asset Allocation
Your customized asset allocation reflects risk, opportunities and taxation across multiple entities, while integrating your investing and estate plans.
Integration of Tactical Asset Allocation
Short-term adjustments seek to capitalize on temporary market distortions. Before making adjustments, we analyze the impact of taxes and trading costs on potential returns.
Implementation of a Customized Wealth Strategy
After comprehensive due diligence and analysis of expected results across multiple market scenarios, strategies are chosen from our expansive investment platform.
Ongoing Assessment
In coordination with your other advisors, we can conduct ongoing reviews and comprehensive reporting to ensure that your strategy adapts to changing financial and family needs.
