My Story and Services

After graduating from Linfield College with a B.S. degree in Marketing and Finance, Scott began working at Equitable Life, which led to new and greater responsibilities at CitiGroup, Legg Mason, and Locorr Funds.

Scott joined The Pacific Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley in 2017 to help clients make smart and tax-efficient decisions about their wealth. He works closely with business owners and corporate executives to help them build and preserve their wealth. Scott also leads the group's efforts in Mergers and Acquisitions of advisory practices, tax-efficient exit strategies for complex land and business assets, and the evaluation of risk and return profiles for successful private clients and nonprofit entities.

Scott was born and raised in Alaska where he was first introduced to the world of finance at the age of 16. He starting investing his earnings from his summer job as a commercial salmon fisherman; within two years, he had saved enough to put a down payment on his own fishing boat. From there, he began to explore the broader financial world and the additional possibilities that investing offered.

Away from work, Scott enjoys time spent with his wife, Deborah, and their daughter, Anna, in their home on Mercer Island. An outdoor enthusiast, Scott's favorite hobbies include hiking, mountaineering, saltwater big game fishing, and building custom sport fishing boats by hand.

    Agricultural Sector
Generally, agriculture and real estate are both long-term
investments with little liquid value. Both are less
sensitive to market changes than the stock market.
However, all real estate property (including farmland) moves in cycles, which includes price dips. Sometimes, this is tied to the value of crops; when agricultural prices drop, so do land values. For savvy real estate investors, this presents a golden opportunity.

    Financing and Mortgages
The most common way of real estate financing are
mortgage agreements. This agreement is between you and a lender and gives the lender the right to take/seize your property if you fail to repay the money (plus interest) that you’ve borrowed.
