My Story

There’s an old saying that in life, the only constant is change. These changes might involve a career pivot, shifting family dynamics, sudden health issues, market fluctuations, or a whole host of other factors. As a financial advisor with 20 years of experience, I’m here to help you and your family navigate every transition with a financial strategy to help get you through both the expected and the unexpected changes. The big and the small. The welcome and the worrisome.

You’ve worked hard for your wealth. Preserving it is my top priority.
My clients know that, and they trust me to help them reach their goals. It’s a trust I work to earn every single day. Especially during life’s challenging moments. I do everything in my power to help you overcome the obstacles you face. My goal is to help you rest easy knowing your financial future is in good hands.

My legacy commitment
As a financial advisor for many families and as a father of two boys myself – I know how important multigenerational concerns are. It’s not just about seeing your wealth through to the next generation; but also helping your children and grandchildren develop the financial value system to sustain that wealth. I combine youth, experience, and industry savvy to help you on both fronts.

Outside of the office, my two sons and I live in Austin. In my free time, I enjoy running, taking advantage of all the live music Austin has to offer, and spending time with family. Lately, that’s meant sharing in my sons’ budding passion for baseball and football; along with weekend trips to watch the Cubs at Wrigley Field, I also coach my sons’ little league teams.

OUR FINANCIAL PLANNING PROCESS

The confidence to pursue your goals starts with a plan.

Planning is the road map for your financial future. It is the first step in our ongoing conversation to create a blueprint based on your goals, wants and needs. A comprehensive plan can help you spend more efficiently, save more strategically and borrow more effectively. It also helps me to ask the right questions and offer the best solutions.

I will present a customized, formal financial plan to you and your family. It will include specific recommendations and a range of investment options to help us achieve your goals. From there, we will agree to an ongoing communication and review schedule and proactively plan how and when we will meet again.
Your plan will include the following quantitative data:
  • Investment accounts
  • Retirement accounts (current and former)
  • Cash / savings / checking accounts
  • Estate (wills, powers of attorney, trusts) - Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not accept appointments nor will it act as a trustee but it will provide access to trust services through an appropriate third‐party corporate trustee.
  • Business interests & ownership
  • Philanthropic Desires - Donor Advised Fund (DAF) / Private foundation /
  • Real property (including primary residence)
  • Life insurance policies - Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC offers insurance products in conjunction with its licensed insurance agency affiliates.
Your plan can include the following qualitative goals:
  • Values (aligning your finances with your purpose)
  • Retirement (a work optional lifestyle)
  • Current & future education planning
  • Inheritance / family legacy planning
  • Travel
  • Major purchases
  • Starting new businesses / funding private investments
  • Planned gifts / donations / philanthropy / tithes
  • Leverage / lines of credit / creative financing
  • Ongoing strategic and tactical investment allocation
  • Health care / long-term care
  • Risk management / premier insurance services
