My Story and Services

Sarah grew up sailing on the Long Island Sound in Connecticut. She went on to help run the community sailing program there and joined the nonprofit board at 18 years old. Staying plugged into the nonprofit world, especially related to domestic violence, human trafficking, hunger and financial literacy continues to be a priority.  Sarah focuses on advocating for women and children, education and (financial) literacy and enjoys related speaking opportunities.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science, with a concentration in Economics and Finance, from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and Management, from the University of Connecticut. Sarah started her career working with high net worth individuals and family foundations before spending nearly a decade working with institutional clients (predominately endowments and foundations). She has almost two decades of investment management experience and has held roles ranging from client service to business development to project management.

Sarah is a wife and Mom to a young son and French Bulldog. She enjoys all things culinary with her family. She is also an avid snowboarder and loves water activities including: sailing, wakeboarding, and stand up paddle boarding (SUP).

- The KNOW BOOK is an annual publication featuring dynamic women from virtually every industry. Every woman featured in KNOW has been vetted through peer-review. Because the mission is to showcase the best & brightest, the only way one can claim their slot is through nomination. The women featured are a compilation of proven leaders, high producers, & rising stars. Those published in the KNOW Book are also considered trendsetters, influencers, & women to watch.

- Sarah has also hosted a Master Class for KNOW Global on What Women Business Owners Should KNOW.

- Sarah was later published in the Women to KNOW in North Carolina in 2022. This book, different from the previous publication in KNOW Raleigh, is a compilation of 56 powerful women from across the state of North Carolina. These women worked relentlessly to achieve their level of success, all while giving back to their communities and supporting those who will come behind them. Women to KNOW in North Carolina is about the woman herself-not about her brand or her company’s accolades-it’s about her. She is the Woman to KNOW.
Women & Children

- Sarah is a member of the Junior League in Raleigh and has enjoyed getting involved with local efforts like volunteering with Helping Horse and Avent West Children's Mentoring (AWCM) and tutoring kids at the Brentwood Boys & Girls Club (including Kids in the Kitchen Program). 2When Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors (collectively, “Morgan Stanley”) provide “investment advice” regarding a retirement or welfare benefit plan account, an individual retirement account or a Coverdell education savings account (“Retirement Account”), Morgan Stanley is a “fiduciary” as those terms are defined under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”), and/or the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (the “Code”), as applicable. When Morgan Stanley provides investment education, takes orders on an unsolicited basis or otherwise does not provide “investment advice”, Morgan Stanley will not be considered a “fiduciary” under ERISA and/or the Code. For more information regarding Morgan Stanley’s role with respect to a Retirement Account, please visit www.morganstanley.com/disclosures/dol. Tax laws are complex and subject to change. Morgan Stanley does not provide tax or legal advice. Individuals are encouraged to consult their tax and legal advisors (a) before establishing a Retirement Account, and (b) regarding any potential tax, ERISA and related consequences of any investments or other transactions made with respect to a Retirement Account. Individuals should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for matters involving trust and estate planning, charitable giving, philanthropic planning and other legal matters.

4The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.

5Alternative Investments are speculative and include a high degree of risk. An investor could lose all or a substantial amount of his/her investment. Alternative investments are appropriate only for qualified, long-term investors who are willing to forgo liquidity and put capital at risk for an indefinite period of time.
