About Jay O’Neil
People leadership is a major part of Jay's role as a Market Manager for Morgan Stanley. His primary focus is to help Financial Advisors leverage the Firm to empower their clients to make better financial decisions. Together, they are driven to improve the integrated wealth management outcomes of each client, and that complements our commitment to Morgan Stanley’s five Core Values: Do the Right Thing, Put Clients First, Lead with Exceptional Ideas, Commit to Diversity and Inclusion, and Give Back.
Jay has over 30 years of experience within the financial services industry. After graduating from West Point in 1990 and serving as an infantry officer in the U.S, Army, Jay entered the financial services industry with SEI, eventually became a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch and Barclays, as well as the Head of Macquarie Private Bank in Australia. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2022 and assumed his current responsibilities as both the Market Manager and Executive Director of the San Francisco Branch in 2025. While being the father of two teenage boys takes up much of his time, he also enjoys vacationing in Montana as often as he can to fish for trout and backpack in the mountains.
