My Life

Tab Image
I grew up on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and started in the financial industry in 1990 at GECC Capital Corporation in Honolulu. After graduating with my MBA in 1993, I moved to the mainland and began my investment career as a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch in 1994, then Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley, Vice President of UnionBanc Investment Services, before my move back to Morgan Stanley in July 2019 as Vice President, Financial Advisor & Senior Portfolio Manager. The partnership team of "The Galin Kranz Group of Morgan Stanley" was established shortly after. My partner and I pioneer the Women and Wealth Educational workshops to help others learn and understand the importance of financial planning to reach their personal goals.
For 27 years I served on the board of the Santa Barbara Outrigger Canoe Club (SBOCC) as the Open Women’s coach, Head Coach and President. I served on the board with the Santa Barbara Yacht Club (SBYC) for 3 years which I am currently still an active member and boater. One of the beauties of living in Southern CA is enjoying the waterfront which I have been fortunate to be a part of. Hawaii is still very much home, but Santa Barbara is not a bad second and both are great golf destinations.

A personal question I get often is how and why I got into my career of investments and financial management.
There are two main reasons - I was raised with a strong example of a father who had clear vision and goals. He worked his way from the bottom up to an incredibly successful business career. He was always planning, thinking, innovating and strategizing. I was his sidekick, and it became my way of life. The second reason came after I was faced with a divorce while raising a toddler. I had sole custody by choice. I made a goal to rebuild my life to provide my daughter with what my father did for our family. The journey was most rewarding when I learned to create my own success. The added joy is experiencing my daughter blossom to an incredible young woman. My personal experiences gave me a strong desire to educate and help others achieve the same for themselves and their loved ones. This has now been a big part of my life for over 25 years.

Success starts with a vision. With the right guidance the vision becomes a plan that executes to create an intended future. My personal and professional experiences provide me the abilities to work with the most complex situations to take care of the people that I care for in both my worlds. I have the support of a great team, as they are equally important and are actively evolving with our changing environment. I wouldn’t be where I am without some incredible people in my life, in both my personal and professional world.
