My Mission Statement
Experience and earned trust matter. I provide independent, non- biased advice and have been navigating portfolios through calm and volatile markets for over 30 years.
Robert Jensen
"How can I give you advice unless I know what you’re looking for and need?” I want to hear from you in an open collaborative discussion before I give you my professional recommendations. The best investment strategy won’t work unless it’s the right strategy for you. I take the time to correctly identify your risk tolerance, needs, and wants up front. That is where successful financial advice starts.
Unlike advisor's who use prepackaged investment products or hire outside money managers, I actively manage and monitor your portfolio with investments I have personally selected. As a result, I know exactly what’s in your account and will make adjustments when needed. I combine my commitment to excellence, over 30 years of experience, and a sophisticated grasp of the financial markets, seeking your increased comfort toward achieving your financial objectives.
My goal is for you to have contentment, knowing that the money you have saved is being managed and monitored by someone who is trustworthy and experienced. Consider letting me help you achieve your financial goals.
To schedule a complementary review, I can be reached by phone at: 847-842-1533, or email at: robert.jensen@morganstanley.com.

Experience
Throughout Robert’s more than 30 years in the financial services industry, he has helped clients withstand a dot com crisis, major recession and some of the most volatile markets in history. As a Morgan Stanley-credentialed Senior Portfolio Management Director, he assumes responsibility for day-to-day investment decisions that his clients would rather not make on their own. In fact, Robert is an avid student of the markets who has developed 29 proprietary portfolio models for investors with varying risk tolerances and needs for growth, income or a combination of both. Before he makes any investment decisions on behalf of his clients, however, Robert spends considerable time determining what those clients want from their investments and whether they can be comfortable with the risk involved. His methodical, collaborative approach has earned him the trust of literally hundreds of clients who look to him for not only investment management, but guidance in virtually every aspect of their financial lives.
A Chicago area native, Robert graduated from Roosevelt University with a double major in Accounting and Finance. He continued his financial education at Morgan Stanley where he earned the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designations. The former provides him with the credentials to help clients manage debt, plan their estates and meet goals that go beyond investing. The latter provides him with insights on asset allocation and portfolio construction that have proven instrumental in his asset management efforts. Robert takes pride in the fact that he has been named a Top Wealth Manager in Chicago Magazine every year since 2012.*
Outside the office, Robert spends much of his time rooting for his two children as they play Soccer, Volleyball and other school sports. He and his family reside in South Barrington.
* This award was issued on 2012-2022 based on an evaluation process as described below. This evaluation was not based on a specific time period, but was conducted by Five Star Professional (FSP) that considered, among other factors, the following:
• Favorable regulatory and complaint history review. As defined by FSP, the wealth manager has not: 1.) Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; 2.) Had more than a total of three settled or pending complaints filed against them and/or a total of five settled, pending, dismissed, or denied complaints with any regulatory authority or FSP’s consumer complaint process.
• Personal bankruptcy filing within the past 11 years.
• Termination from a financial services firm within the past 11 years.
• Conviction of a felony.
• One-year client retention rate.
• Five-year client retention rate.
Five Star Professional, as a third party research firm, identified pre-qualified award candidates based on industry data and contacted all identified broker dealers, Registered Investment Advisor firms and FINRA-registered representatives to gather wealth manager nominations. Self-nominations are not accepted. Wealth managers and/or their firms do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers.

1Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is the trade name of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, a registered broker-dealer in the United States.
2Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
3Morgan Stanley offers a wide array of brokerage and advisory services to its clients, each of which may create a different type of relationship with different obligations to you. Please consult with your Financial Advisor to understand these differences or review our Understanding Your Brokerage and Investment Advisory Relationships brochure available at www.morganstanley.com/wealth-relationshipwithms/pdfs/understandingyourrelationship.pdf.
4Insurance products are offered in conjunction with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC’s licensed insurance agency affiliates.
5Morgan Stanley’s investment advisory programs may require a minimum asset level and, depending on your specific investment objectives and financial position, may not be appropriate for you. The Morgan Stanley ADV is available at www.morganstanley.com/ADV.
6When Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors (collectively, “Morgan Stanley”) provide “investment advice” regarding a retirement or welfare benefit plan account, an individual retirement account or a Coverdell education savings account (“Retirement Account”), Morgan Stanley is a “fiduciary” as those terms are defined under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”), and/or the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (the “Code”), as applicable. When Morgan Stanley provides investment education, takes orders on an unsolicited basis or otherwise does not provide “investment advice”, Morgan Stanley will not be considered a “fiduciary” under ERISA and/or the Code. For more information regarding Morgan Stanley’s role with respect to a Retirement Account, please visit www.morganstanley.com/disclosures/dol. Tax laws are complex and subject to change.
