Rick's Story

Rick is an experienced Financial Advisor and senior partner with The McNamee Group. For nearly 20 years, he has enjoyed helping affluent families and businesses achieve success, built on established objectives and seeing them through over time. As a distinguished advisor, Rick strives to provide a level of service beyond traditional financial advisory that is tailored to the unique needs of business owners, corporate executives, and retirement plan sponsors. As a single source of high quality advice, Rick helps to ease the worry and stress of complex financial challenges with holistic solutions, allowing clients to devote more time to leisure activities or running their business.

Rick was raised by two hard-working parents. His mother was a teacher and his father was an engineer. Their dedication to their respective fields inspired Rick to pursue a profession that would blend the best of both vocations and highlight his strengths: the desire to help others and make a real difference in their lives combined with a focus on precision, order, and rules to achieve intended results. During his studies at Monmouth University, he was offered the opportunity for an internship at Smith Barney (now Morgan Stanley) with Ed McNamee, the founder of the McNamee Group and father of his now-partner, Brett.

Upon graduation, he was hired full-time as an Investment Analyst. He continued a career path through Portfolio Management until ultimately making the decision to leverage his years of experience and investment skills to become a Financial Advisor. Since that time Rick has focused his expertise on the unique needs of executives and business owners and has become a key differentiator for the team, and a national strategic partner supporting other advisors nationally within Morgan Stanley where his specialized expertise is required for large and complex corporate retirement plans, non-qualified plans, defined benefit plans, equity compensation, and other capabilities within Morgan Stanley at Work’s corporate consulting and advisory.

Rick is among a distinguished few of less than two percent of Financial Advisors at Morgan Stanley to earn the Corporate Retirement Director designation. He has also earned such advanced certifications as Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® (CRPS®) and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC) to acquire special skills and knowledge to further enhance the breadth of advice he can provide.

Rick is regularly recognized as a top advisor. His team was recognized by Forbes as a Best in State Wealth Management team in 2024, was a Financial Times “400 Top Financial Advisors” recipient in 2019, a NAPA “Top Retirement Plan Advisors Under 40” awardee in 2018, and a 5 Star Wealth Manager Award winner 2016 through 2024. Rick was also a Morgan Stanley Pacesetter every year he was eligible (2014 through 2019), an honor that recognizes top young advisors at the firm.

As a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which he lives and works, Rick is on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, Monmouth University Business Council, and Monmouth University Executive Mentoring Program, where he volunteers his time to mentor students and recent graduates in career development. He and his wife, Christina, currently reside in Monmouth County with their son, Louie, daughter, Gabi, and their yellow Labrador, Brody. For leisure, Rick enjoys traveling with his family, staying current with the latest technology, and cooking – where he is known to spend entire weekends preparing “the world‘s best BBQ” in his backyard smoker.

Working With You:

The hallmark of my wealth management process is a longstanding commitment to building customized solutions from the ground up. My goals-based approach leads to strategies that are not only designed to reach specific financial targets, but are reflective of who you are and how you intend to share your wealth with others.
    Icon Image
    Step 1: Introduction
We begin with an informal discussion to understand your financial concerns and determine how we can add value. If we all agree to move forward, we’ll schedule our next meeting and request important financial information.
    Icon Image
    Step 2: Discovery
We continue the dialogue by fostering an in-depth conversation where we learn about the values that shape your decisions and identify any unique circumstances. We also review the documents you’ve prepared and define your priorities.
    Icon Image
Step 3: Analysis & Plan Development
Here, we utilize proprietary financial planning tools to develop a personalized and detailed plan with recommendations to help you grow and preserve your wealth.
    Icon Image
    Step 4: Implementation
In this step, we present appropriate strategies that are designed to work together to achieve your goals. Upon your approval, we initiate the investment recommendations and begin to implement the additional strategies we’ve discussed. These often encompass risk management and estate planning.
    Icon Image
    Step 5: Ongoing Service
Committed to premium service, we focus on developing a relationship that provides special value to you and your family. As we begin to execute each strategy, we’ll set up tools so you have immediate access to your account information. And because markets and personal needs evolve over time, we set up ongoing meetings to ensure your plan remains on schedule to achieve your goals.

My Services:

    Business Planning
The links between business ownership and personal wealth are many and complex. Whether your objective is to grow your business, realize its value through a succession strategy or sale, or maintain family ownership through the next generation, we will help you examine your alternatives and develop the best strategy to achieve your goals.
    Icon Image
    Business Succession Planning
Owning a business represents years, if not decades, of hard work and entrepreneurial savvy. Yet, even the most astute business owners are often unfamiliar with the complexities that go into a successful succession strategy. We understand your succession in the context of your overall financial picture. We also work closely with your other financial advisors to help ensure your priorities are reflected in your succession strategy.
    Icon Image
    Financial Planning
The cornerstone of an effective wealth management plan is comprehensive financial planning, which captures your goals, resources and expectations for the future. Effective planning can potentially lead to successful education and retirement income funding. It helps eliminate blind spots, and helps ensure legacy goals are met.
    Icon Image
    Wealth Management
Wealth management brings all the dimensions of your life together. We listen carefully to understand the connections across your personal life, your family, your career, and your legacy goals to develop an integrated strategy that is uniquely yours.
    Icon Image
    Estate Planning Strategies
Delivering an estate to the next generation or favorite charity requires more attention than families often realize. We coordinate with your estate and tax professionals to align your legacy goals with the appropriate asset titling and beneficiary designation requirements, incorporating best practices to help enhance results.
    Icon Image
    Asset Management
