My Story and Services

I became a Financial Advisor 21 years ago because I understood the value of sound financial advice and what it could mean to people who needed it. My clients come to me for a variety of reasons. Some simply seek to retire as planned. Others are already retired and hoping to remain that way. Still others are concerned about leaving a legacy to their family, purchasing a second home or maybe rebuilding their lives after divorce or the death of a spouse.

For all these clients, I take pride in being the person they turn to for guidance in making informed decisions – decisions that can make a difference between reaching their goals and regretting they didn’t.

Working with You

Goals-based wealth management is a relatively new development among Financial Advisors, but it’s an approach I’ve been practicing well before it achieved its current popularity. My process for working with clients is comprehensive, deeply personal and involves the following steps:
• Discovery
Who are you as a person, not just an investor? What do you hope to achieve for yourself and your family? As an experienced Financial Advisor and a Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor, I understand the importance of listening before I offer possible recommendations. Our conversations will explore your aspirations, apprehensions and unique circumstances. Only when I have a thorough understanding of these will we proceed to the next phase of our process.
• Plan Development
Every goal has a price associated with it. How much will it cost you to maintain your lifestyle in retirement, for example, or send your children to the college of their choice? Once we develop realistic cost estimates, I will weigh them against your savings, potential future sources of income and other resources that might be available to you. Depending on whether you have a gap or a surplus between the projected cost of your goals and your overall resources, I will create a plan with tangible recommendations.
• Plan Implementation
Once you understand where you are in relation to your goals, I will develop strategies to help you progress toward your specific destinations. Central to your strategy is a customized asset allocation based on your goals, timeframe and risk tolerance. Beyond your portfolio, I work with your attorney, accountant and Morgan Stanley professionals in such diverse disciplines as lending and estate planning to fill any gaps revealed by your plan and address any challenges you face.
• Evaluation
Are you proceeding as anticipated toward your financial destination or is an adjustment required? I monitor your performance on an ongoing basis and may alter our strategies to accommodate changing circumstances in your life or trends in the financial markets. When those markets turn turbulent, as they do from time to time, you can count on me to help you understand what’s going on and avoid emotional decisions that may impede your long-term progress.

Investing Your Assets

I work closely with Consulting Group professionals to further refine the selection process and recommend managers whom we believe are best qualified to help you meet your goals within your required timeframe and risk tolerance.

Another reason I came to Morgan Stanley is the firm’s commitment to investment management analysis and selection. The firm’s Consulting Group has been an industry leader in impartial manager research for more than 45 years and analyzes hundreds of managers annually for not only performance, but such criteria as:
• Risk
how much risk does a manager assume to generate return versus other alternatives available to you?
• Attribution
what percentage of return is directly attributable to the expertise of its manager?
• Style drift
are your managers really who they claim to be or did they fail to adhere to their purported style under certain market conditions?
• Organizational strength
do your managers depend on the talents of one individual or is there a cadre of experienced professionals managing by a proven process?
I work closely with Consulting Group professionals to further refine the selection process and recommend managers whom we believe are best qualified to help you meet your goals within your required timeframe and risk tolerance.

A Holistic Approach to Managing Your Wealth

As a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor, I offer access to the extensive resources of one of the world’s most respected financial institutions. When necessary, we can consult with firm professionals who bring additional intellectual capital to our decision-making process.

My approach to wealth management is comprehensive. It involves investments, of course, but it goes far beyond to encompass virtually every dimension of your financial life.
Specifically, you can look to me for advice and guidance to help you:
  • Retire with confidence that you’ll be able to maintain your lifestyle and meet day-to-day expenses for the rest of your life
  • Leave a meaningful legacy without excessive taxation or family conflict
  • Finance a new home or other major acquisition at favorable terms
  • Protect your family from long-term care expenses and loss of income due to death or disability
  • Send your children to college without depleting your retirement savings
  • Meet business needs with solutions that range from cash management to business succession planning
  • Maximize any employer stock options or other executive compensation to which you’re entitled

Biography

From the time I was a child growing up in Dublin, I knew I’d pursue a career in finance someday. My mother was a bank executive and at the age of 16, I worked as a teller while still in high school. At Bowling Green State University, I majored in Finance and when I graduated, I went to work at Huntington Financial where I spent the next two decades advising clients and building a successful practice.

In 2021, I moved that practice to Morgan Stanley because I felt that in today’s complex financial environment, it is critical that my clients and I have extensive resources to support our efforts. Those resources include cutting edge technology, portfolio management options and intellectual capital that can help us formulate strategies in not only investing, but such diverse disciplines as lending, insurance and estate planning strategies.

Outside the office, I’m an active member of the Dublin community, serving on the Boards of JR Memorial and Easter Seals of Central Ohio. I also volunteer with the Buckeye Cruise for Concern that supports the James Center Hospital at Ohio State University.

My husband, three children and I continue to reside in Dublin, the town where I was brought up, currently work and expect to remain for the foreseeable future.
