Prumo Kalvar Group at Morgan Stanley

Our Mission Statement
Welcome
Our focus is on helping our clients, including women in transition, develop strategies to assist them in navigating complex financial decisions. We strive to help clients define and meet their goals by delivering a vast array of resources in a way that is most appropriate for each unique situation. We help develop customized strategies that balance your lifestyle, including near-term family needs such as housing, education funding, and financial support for your children, with vision for retirement.
We believe success in achieving important financial goals starts with a comprehensive plan. We engage in thoughtful discovery with each client, learning about their full financial picture as well as the things they are passionate about. We partner with you to help pursue the retirement lifestyle you envision.
Working with You to Create a Comprehensive Financial Plan

No matter what stage your life is in, whether you are preparing for retirement, enjoying retirement, or somewhere in between – a comprehensive plan can help you achieve your financial goals.
Beginning with an established plan is the best step forward in the path to reach your long-term goals. As circumstances in your life change – your financial goals will often change as well. Our planning process is dynamic, allowing for flexibility to adapt to changes in your life as they happen.
Utilizing the extensive planning tools that Morgan Stanley has to offer, we can develop a more focused financial future that incorporates all aspects of
your life – not only your investments.
Understanding Your Unique Situation

Longevity has become a critical issue for women, probably one of the biggest reasons why women's needs are so different than men's in terms of financial saving and investing.
Women retirees and surviving spouses may have special planning needs that have become a focus for our team. Steve and David are experienced in working with clients impacted by the financial challenges of longevity, divorce, losing a spouse, becoming a caregiver for a loved one or needing professional long-term care. Through financial discussions, education, and attentiveness to the issues specific to women, the team can help you with a customized financial approach designed for your situation.

About Me
Early in his career Steve turned around a medical clinic that previously ran deficits. He followed a methodical approach; carefully examining the clinic’s financials, their mission and operations and then helped his staff implement changes to serve patient needs more efficiently. Steve follows a similar approach with clients and believes no part of your wealth should be wasted or unaccounted for in pursuit of your goals.
Steve’s introduction to wealth management began when he worked for his mother’s practice at Merrill. He later joined Smith Barney/Citigroup before returning to Merrill in 2010 – and then joining Morgan Stanley in 2023. With financial advisor David Kalvar, he formed The Prumo Kalvar Group in 2017. Steve is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor’s degree in finance and received his M.B.A. from Loyola University of Maryland. Steve holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and Certified Investment Management Analyst® designations. As a Portfolio Manager, Steve can help clients pursue their objectives by managing on a discretionary basis his own Personalized or Defined Strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds and third-party investment strategies.
Steve and his wife Erin have a blended family with four children. He enjoys coaching them in youth baseball, volleyball and basketball. Steve trained for and ran two marathons and when he retired from running, he started practicing yoga. His commitment to hot yoga led him to improvise during the pandemic by setting up a personal hot yoga studio in his basement.
About David Kalvar
David built a career in marketing before beginning his Wealth Management career at Merrill Lynch in 2017. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2023. His decision to switch careers and become a financial advisor at age 50 wasn’t as big of a change as you would think. Over the years he came to realize the part of his job he loved most was listening to clients and helping them with strategies, not to just tackle business issues, but also to help them address what was going on in their personal lives. Calm and empathetic, David is patient in his approach with clients, many of whom are seeking professional financial advice and guidance for the first time.
You can reach out to David at anytime, about nearly anything that concerns you. He understands change can be difficult for clients, especially if you were accustom to managing your wealth on your own. He is sensitive to what it may take for you to let go and allow someone else to guide your financial life into the future.
David is happy to discuss strategies to help your children and grandchildren or to assist you with different approaches to celebrate family milestones. His goal is to be there for you when you need him, helping you address the financial challenges that may arise, while also assisting you in the pursuit of opportunities throughout your life.
He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics and received his M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University. In between coaching his four children in sports, teaching them how to cook and spending time with family, David tries to squeeze in a round of golf.
About Ayanna Byrd
