Our Team at Morgan Stanley Portland Branch

About George Kane

George Kane is an Executive Director and the Market Executive for Morgan Stanley’s Pacific Mountain Market, spanning Oregon, SW Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana. George has broad experience in the Financial Services industry. Over the course of his career, he has had the opportunity to work with high-performing teams from San Francisco, Singapore, Sydney, Boston, Seattle, Dallas, and now, the Pacific Northwest.

George builds his team around coaching and listening to the advisors he mentors. Before offering advice or delivering initiatives, George listens extensively to find out how the team is working and what they’re trying to accomplish. Only when he has a full picture of what the team is looking for does he begin to assist in developing the world class resources available at Morgan Stanley.

Outside of the office, George has been an active board member with Boys & Girls Clubs and the United Way. Having coached his children’s soccer, basketball and baseball teams, he continues to work to increase kids’ access to sports programs. He is also actively involved with American Corporate Partners, where he provides career counseling and coaching to individuals transitioning from the military to civilian life.

While Giving Back is a core value of Morgan Stanley, George and the entire Pacific Mountain Market commit to that value in multiple ways. The Market employees support over a hundred community organizations, both financially as well as by donating hundreds of hours of volunteer time.

George is extremely proud of the entire leadership team of the Pacific Mountain Market and their relentless focus on helping their advisors and teams continually develop their individual strengths and value propositions.

6The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of sustainable investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because sustainability criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
