My Story and Services

Paul Lakon is a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in Beverly Hills, Calif. Known for his unwavering dedication to deliver the highest level of quality service to his clients, Paul has more than 35 years of experience in financial services.
Before joining Morgan Stanley in 2021, Paul worked as a Financial Advisor for RBC Wealth Management for over 15 years and Citigroup Smith Barney for over 17 years. Paul began his career with Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1988, the same year he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.
Throughout his long career, Paul has firmly established a solid reputation for his knowledge of both the equity and fixed-income markets. He is keenly focused on helping investors grow their portfolio, making sure their assets are working hard at all times and preserving their wealth for future generations.
While Paul is highly adept at leveraging the global resources and vast capabilities of Morgan Stanley for the benefit of his clients, he reads several financial publications voraciously to help ensure he stays current on important financial topics of major concern to his clients.
Paul serves a broad range of investors, mainly senior-level executives, high-net-worth individuals, business owners, retirees and those soon to be retired. Having been in financial services for a long time, he meets many of his new clients by way of referrals from his existing clientele. Paul holds numerous professional designations. These include Series 7 (General Securities), Series 63 and 66 (State law licenses), Series 3 (National Commodity Futures), Series 31 (Futures Managed Funds), SIE (Securities Industry Essentials), and designations for Life and Disability Insurance and Variable Life and Variable Annuities.
A student of the markets, Paul places great importance on education and transparency. He believes the more clients understand their investments, the more likely they will stick with the financial plan that he and his team have created for them. Having worked through virtually every type of market, Paul knows how to help clients stay focused on their long-term goals when markets turn volatile. This approach has helped Paul build strong, enduring relationships with his clients, many of whom have been with him for decades. Paul has been happily married to his lovely wife, Christa, for 29 years. They have two boys they are very proud of, Nicholas, 26, and Peter, 23. Laura Tiffany is a highly experienced Wealth Management Associate in Morgan Stanley’s Beverly Hills, Calif., office. Born and raised in California, she has been in financial services for over 25 years.
Laura joined Morgan Stanley in 2021 along with Financial Advisor Paul Lakon, with whom she worked at RBC Wealth Management. She also spent many years working with
      UBS.
Usually the first person clients speak with when they call, Laura handles myriad service and operational responsibilities – from placing trades and fielding client questions to making sure investors receive all their dividends and interest payments.
Known for her caring personality and tireless work ethic, Laura places great importance on exceeding expectations, paying close attention to details, communicating effectively and taking a proactive business approach by calling clients periodically to see how they are doing. This proactive approach has enabled Laura to forge strong relationships with clients because they tend to be forthcoming about their needs, which helps her be of greater service to them.
A team player who also likes to share knowledge with her colleagues, Laura is excellent at getting difficult tasks accomplished in relatively short order. That’s because Laura has
deep knowledge of how a branch works, having held many different jobs throughout her career, such as branch service manager and operations manager.
“Most importantly,” she says, “I love what I do, which I believe comes through in my work,” she says. “No matter what someone needs, especially our clients, I do whatever I can to help.”
While Laura is pleased with her accomplishments in the workplace, she is most proud of her 26-year-old daughter, who works for a cardiologist in Austin, Texas, and her 24-year-old son, a nuclear engineer in the Navy in Virginia.

4Fixed Income investing entails credit risks and interest rate risks. When interest rates rise, bond prices generally fall.

5Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.

10The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
