About Alistair Harding-Smith
Alistair Harding-Smith is a founding partner and head of investment strategy and portfolio management for the Paragon HM Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley in Birmingham, Alabama. An industry veteran of more than 25 years, he has extensive experience managing assets for and working closely with endowments, corporate pension funds, government entities and a broad range of high-net-worth individuals.
Overseeing a 14-member Group with more than $2.5 billion in client assets as of June 2024, Alistair was named to Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisor list for 2018-2024 and Barron’s America’s Top 1,200 Advisors list from 2022-2025.

It is there that Alistair worked on the team responsible for developing an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) and also served on a steering committee for the prestigious FTSE index.
Born in Windsor, England, Alistair attended St. Paul’s school in London and graduated from Bristol University in England, receiving a BSc in Mathematics and Economics. Classically trained in the oboe and piano, Alistair served as past president and treasurer of the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra and is currently President of the TSO Endowment Fund. Alistair was involved in the 2022 World Games in Birmingham and a member of the Sports Council representing Squash.
Alistair lives in Hoover, Alabama, with his wife Katie, and spends his time actively involved with his three children, Lauren, William, and Caedmon.

He has also chaired the US Home Team and the Short-Term Mission Trip committees. He led multiple short term medical trips to Uganda, Africa from 2004-2007. Andy loves to travel with his family, hunting, skiing, golf and tennis. He served as the chair of the Tennis Committee at Vestavia Hills Country Club for 3 years, and currently serves as a board member. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he served as a board member and past president of National Children’s Advocacy Center. Kim Caldwell is a Senior Registered Client Service Associate and Financial Planning Specialist working out of our Tuscaloosa, Alabama office.
