We are a financial advising family team at Morgan Stanley that focuses on helping successful individuals, families, and business owners meet their various investment goals.  We guide our clients, helping them grow and preserve their assets over multiple generations.  We utilize the vast research and resources of Morgan Stanley to develop a customized investment program that is tailored to each investor.  The immense knowledge and experience that a Morgan Stanley First Vice-President and Senior Portfolio Manager brings combined with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ allows us to give our clients individualized portoflio investment services and customized financial plans.  We always put our client’s needs first, provide services with integrity and treat each family like we would our own.

Experience

Nick began his financial industry career as a registered investment representative in 1981 with Merrill Lynch. He then joined Smith Barney, a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm, in 1986 as a Vice President. After successfully completing intensive portfolio management training, Nick became a senior member of the Portfolio Management Group. He customizes portfolios based on asset allocation and individual/sector weightings.

Kaela began her career in 2008 with her father at Smith Barney, a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm, while continuing to take classes at Mount St. Mary’s to further her educational degrees. In 2011 she met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP® Board and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

    Our practice focuses on small business owners, professionals, qualified investors, and retirees.  We take a multigenerational approach to investing and often work with a client's entire family.

      Community Involvement

      Nick volunteers with local schools by assisting in coaching various basketball and football programs.  In addition, he serves as a guest speaker to high school students on financial/economic topics.


      Kaela enjoys giving back to her community by working with those with developmental diabilities and children.

        Meet Nicholas Smeresky & Kaela Smeresky Iciek

        About Me

        I became a registered investment representative in 1981 with Merrill Lynch, then joined Smith Barney, a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm, in 1986. Today I manage client portfolios for high net worth individuals, pension plans, and corporate clients. After successfully completing intensive portfolio management training, I became a Senior Portfolio Manager. I implement investment strategies and asset allocations based on sector and individual equity weightings. I use a portfolio that is based on fundamental and technical research. In addition, I act as a consultant in conjunction with outside money managers.  I reside in Baltimore County with my wife.  In addition to working with my daughter, my wife and I also have a son who graduated from the US Naval Academy and is a naval aviator.

        About Me

        I began my financial career in 2008 at Smith Barney, a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm, while continuing to take classes at Mount St. Mary’s to further my education degrees in Business, Biology and Chemistry. I have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board, have successfully completed financial planning coursework and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination covering the following areas:  the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning.  Today I work with my father to manage client portfolios and create customized financial plans.  In addition, I take a leading role in new business development, marketing, and technology.  I reside in Baltimore County with my husband and children.

        Mike has worked in the financial services industry since 1997.  He started with Morgan Stanley in 2010 as a Client Services Associate.  Prior to his time at Morgan Stanley, Mike was employed with T. Rowe Price and Bank of America.  Mike feels one of his greatest strengths is helping clients solve problems and providing a consistent, high level of service.  In his spare time, Mike enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time with his family at the beach.  He can be reached at (410) 583 - 4855.
