For over twenty years, our team has had the pleasure of working with some truly extraordinary families, in many cases spanning across multiple generations. Many of them have built their wealth through private family businesses or corporate & public service, or they serve as stewards for family wealth that was created many generations ago.

Meet Narragansett Bay Group

About Me

Joe is a co-founder and senior partner of the Narragansett Bay Group at Morgan Stanley. He oversees the portfolio management and alternative investment elements of the practice and is a member of the team’s investment committee.

He began his career in 1992 at Hambrecht & Quist in Boston, where he advised executives on corporate cash management, pre-IPO planning, employee stock option planning, and individual wealth management. He later transitioned his practice to Smith Barney, which was subsequently acquired by Morgan Stanley.

Joe was granted the esteemed Family Wealth Advisor designation, which is issued to select financial advisors within Morgan Stanley who have successfully completed a comprehensive accreditation program. Joe has also achieved the titles of Portfolio Management Director and Alternative Investments Director at Morgan Stanley.

Joe is a Board Member of The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation in Rhode Island, and has held Board positions with Classical High School Alumni Association and the Jamestown Arts Center. He holds a BA from Colby College. He lives in East Greenwich, RI with his wife and two children, and enjoys mountain biking, skiing and gardening.

About Me

Nancy is a co-founder of the Narragansett Bay Group and oversees the financial planning components of the practice. In addition, she collaborates on investment management and sits on the team’s investment committee.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Nancy owned and operated a local cafe and catering business until 2003 when she made the decision to sell her ownership interest. She went on to begin her career as a Financial Advisor at Smith Barney, which was subsequently acquired by Morgan Stanley.

Nancy holds a BA from Boston College, and is a past graduate of the Moses Brown School. In addition, she holds professional designations which include: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, awarded by the CFP® Board, and the CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLAN COUNSELOR® certification from the College for Financial Planning.

She currently lives in Providence, RI, and enjoys running, skiing and cooking. She serves as Vice President of the Eastside Commons Condominium Association.

About Me

Nathan currently serves as the managing partner of the Narragansett Bay Group. In addition to sitting on the team’s investment committee, he is responsible for overseeing corporate services, lending solutions, and investment analytics for the team.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he developed and operated a privately owned business located in southeastern Massachusetts. His experience also includes an associate role within Ernst & Young LLP, where he consulted in the areas of financial statement analysis and audit/assurance services for a number of large multinational corporations.

Nathan holds a BA from Bridgewater State University, both MS and MBA degrees from Northeastern University, and has completed executive education programs at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Bryant University, and the College for Financial Planning. Additionally, he holds professional designations which include: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, CERTIFIED INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT ANALYST®, and CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLAN SPECIALIST®.

He currently resides in Swansea, MA with his wife, and enjoys playing ice hockey, skiing, competitive sports and golf.

About Me

Jennifer currently oversees the service and marketing operations for the team.

She joined Morgan Stanley following a long career in the Hospitality and Foodservice Management industry.  Most recently, she held a Consultant-Analyst position with one of the largest privately owned companies in the U.S., where her focus was on increasing the efficiency and profitability of large scale businesses throughout the Northeast.  In addition, she has held a number of managerial and consultative positions within the industry, both in New England, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Jennifer holds a BA from Bridgewater State College.  During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester studying at the University of Oxford, and lived for several years in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

She currently resides in Massachusetts, and enjoys music, cooking, reading, and traveling.
