    Working With You

Our focus is to learn all about you and your needs and goals. Through this discovery process, we create a multi-generational plan using risk mitigation and tax efficient strategies so you can maintain your current lifestyle while meeting all your long-term goals.

First, to make the best experience possible, our team must understand you and your goals. We will guide you through and extensive discovery process to identify your objectives, time horizon, tolerance for risk and other considerations that may play a role in shaping your investment strategy.

Next, we will set up a plan for allocating your assets and constructing your portfolio. Your input drives the development of a personalized financial strategy. Our asset allocation and portfolio planning is designed to help you meet your specific needs. When our analysis is complete, we will present to you an investment strategy that helps to identify the appropriate level of diversification for your portfolio.

After we have discussed and refined your strategy, we work closely with you to bring the elements to life. If you prefer to invest in individual securities, we can help identify specific stocks, bonds and other securities that may be suitable for your portfolio. Whatever approach we decide on together, our team will help you keep your strategy on track.

Finally, we view ongoing communication as the foundation of our successful collaboration with you. This means reviewing your portfolio in-depth at your request.

          About Me

Richard co-founded the Murray Hill Group with a singular focus: to learn all about you and your family to help you meet your financial and lifestyle goals. Through this discovery process, he crafts a multi-generational strategy for your family, focusing on mitigating risk, capitalizing on opportunities, and maintaining tax efficiencies. His ability to uphold equanimity through a number of business cycles derives from a long career in investment management, first as a research analyst and trader on the institutional side, and now as the Senior Portfolio Manager with the Murray Hill Group.

Graduating with honors from the University of Rochester with a degree in Economics and Political Science, Richard acquired the tools to value investment opportunities from every dimension: political, economic, and fundamental. Richard attests his success to his multilateral perspective of the markets. Richard earned his Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation in 1988, and he holds licenses and professional degrees in portfolio management, financial planning, retirement plan consulting, and annuity and life insurance. To testify to Richard’s success, Richard was invited to Morgan Stanley’s Chairman’s Club from 2006-2015, and President’s Council from 1998-2006.

Personally, Richard enjoys golf, Swiss Alp Mountain trekking, sailing, history, Vinyasa Yoga, and perennial gardening, and this year he started learning guitar. Richard was proud to win the Rye Golf Club Senior Club Championship in 2012 and 2014, and although his golf skills are notable, his friends consider him a renaissance man.

The same passion Richard has for finance and culture has also translated into the community. He coached dozens of youth sports teams for his kids including ice hockey, field hockey, baseball, and soccer. As well, he was a founder of the Friends Indeed (FIND) foundation, organized to help families find missing loved ones in the September 11th tragedy.

Richard resides in Larchmont, New York with his wife, Randi, where they raised four children. His son Michael graduated from University of Rochester and began a technology startup in San Francisco, while his son Mathew Graduated from the University of Vermont followed by a career in advertising. His identical twin daughters Ellie and Karen attend Brown University and University of Pennsylvania respectively, where they play field hockey.

Richard practices all of his endeavors with the same zeal, focus, and discipline that he manages his client portfolios.

Sheldon is also a passionate gardener, and model train collector. Sheldon applies similar patience, and collectedness to his financial management as he does in his hobbies, which has allowed him to guide his clients through some of the most tumultuous markets.
