My Story

Michelle dedicates her talent, skills and experience to helping a global clientele of uncommonly successful individuals and families manage the complexities of significant wealth, so they can focus on the people, activities and interests that add meaning to their lives. Her unwavering commitment to helping her clients and their families achieve the lifestyle and legacy they envision has earned her the designations of Family Wealth Director and International Client Advisor. In 2017, Michelle was named to the prestigious Financial Times Top 400 Advisors list, and to Working Mother and SHOOK Research’s Top Wealth Adviser Moms list. In 2018, she has been named to Forbes Magazine’s inaugural list of America’s Best-in-State Wealth Advisors.

Michelle joined Morgan Stanley in 2004. She is a member of the President’s Club, an elite group comprising the Firm’s leading Financial Advisors. She serves as Co-Chair of Morgan Stanley’s International Wealth Management Council and as Vice-President of the NY Metro Women’s Business Development Council.

Michelle graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in economics and finance from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. She is fluent in Spanish and English, and conversational in Italian, French and Dutch.

Born in Ecuador, Michelle has lived in Belgium and England. She currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina and works out of the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management office in New York City. Outside of work, she enjoys mountaineering, hiking, horseback riding, traveling and spending time with her husband and their two children.

Reflecting how the most successful families create and maintain enduring legacies across multiple generations, Morgan Stanley Family Office Resources (FOR) is structured to help clients define a guiding vision, translate that vision into effective strategies and implement those strategies by calling on the tactical expertise of experienced experts. Accessed by Morgan Stanley advisors through UHNW Client Specialists, our capabilities span three complementary areas of expertise: Governance & Legacy, Wealth Strategies and Signature Access.


As a Family Wealth Director, I work with Ultra High-Net Worth families ($50 Million+ Liquid Net Worth) in solving complex multigenerational needs for families, individuals and foundations. The Family Wealth Director designation together with International Client Advisor designation at Morgan Stanley is comprised of a select number of advisors at the firm (less than 3%) - allowing me to deliver the full firm to a unique set of clients.


For many UHNW clients, the most difficult wealth planning challenge they face relates not to the management of their financial capital but to the management of their human capital. For these clients, their most daunting challenge involves managing the complex mix of issues relating to the impact that wealth has on their families.
