My Story and Services

Michelle has been working in the financial services industry since 1999. Over the years, Michelle has developed deep client relationships based on bringing her wide experience in financial strategies that include investment and asset preservation, estate planning, insurance, asset protection strategies and life cycle portfolio planning in service of their needs. Always, with intimate knowledge of her clients’ financial circumstances and long-term plans for financial security.

Over the last 22 years Michelle has developed a unique client approach based on a deep understanding of her clients’ needs as they grow and sustain their portfolios. Michelle started her career at Morgan Stanley where she worked with one of the firm’s largest teams managing assets in excess of 1 billion dollars. Here, she learned the business from the ground up. She actively traded both bonds and equities with the firm’s Specialist traders on the NYSE and Bond floors, actively interacted with very high net worth clients, and monitored portfolio performance for the team.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Michelle worked at Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, UBS Financial Services and Morgan Keegan. While at UBS, Michelle earned her certification as “Certified Portfolio Manager” at Columbia University, establishing her as one of the select CPM® certified advisors in the country. This certification brings together in Michelle, a set of skills that usually require multiple sources to achieve. She provides guidance and implements customized strategies in the areas of asset allocation, risk management, estate planning, insurance strategies and philanthropy.

Prior to entering the investment industry, Michelle was an accounting professional, and served as Comptroller at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. Michelle and her husband of over 22 years, Mike, reside in Vero Beach, Florida and share their Goldendoodle fur-babies, Miles Davis and Parker.

SOUND INVESTING PRINCIPLES VS. HUMAN NATURE

Have you heard the expression "buy low, sell high"? It applies to just about any investment, and savvy investors always look for opportunities where something seems to be selling for less than it's worth. So then why do investors sell off their investments when the market drops? Isn't that the perfect time to BUY, when prices are depressed (i.e., "buy low")? Doesn't it make more sense to either hold on to an investment during a market correction, or even buy stocks during a bull market?

It makes logical sense, and yet even sophisticated investors rush to dump their stocks when the market goes down (i.e. "sell high"). Why?

Because they are acting on emotion rather than logic. They fear that the market will continue to drop and don't want to lose any more - even though they know that long-term, they should ignore the standard ups and downs of the market and stay the course.

In fact, while people are supposed to act in their own self-interest and make logical decisions, human beings are much more inclined to act emotionally when it comes to money - that's the core principle behind a school of thought called Behavioral investing.

I have studied the phenomenon of Behavioral Investing and applied it to my wealth management practice. One of the most important things I do for my clients is to provide a logical, systematic response to changing conditions - I provide a guiding hand during the regular market volatility that is almost certain to occur during any long-range investment cycle.

Emotions are part of being human, and we all respond to them. However, I work with my clients to be sure that they don't make investment decisions, or any other financial choice, based on emotions rather than logic
