My Story and Services

After completing his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix, Max worked as an orthopedic medical device representative. In this role, he collaborated with doctors in operating rooms and clinics to deliver solutions for patients during foot and ankle surgeries. Later, as a dental device representative, he partnered with Kansas City dentists and orthodontists again to deliver solutions to meet their patients’ needs. After a rewarding and successful career in orthopedic and dental sales, Max decided to pursue his interest in finance and investments and became fully registered as a Financial Advisor in 2024. In his new role, Max will be responsible for analyzing investments, developing financial plans, and working directly with clients to help solve problems and provide strategies designed to help meet their goals. What Are Your Goals?

Some people go through life knowing exactly what they want and have a clear plan for how they are going to make it happen.

In my experience, this is the exception rather than the rule.

Much more common is a vague sense that "I want my family to be OK" or "I want to be sure I don't run out of money." These are valid sentiments and form a viable framework for an investment plan, but they are not defined goals.

It is crucial to identify and clearly articulate specific goals, so we can mitigate your investment risk. By defining specific goals, we can invest for the desired return without incurring undue risk.

So what is a specific goal? Here are a few:

  • Pay for college for my two children or four grandchildren. What will that cost be in the appropriate timeframe?

  • Retire from my "real" career at age 60, so I can transition to a less stressful or fun career. How much wealth will be required?

  • Have enough money for a major international trip twice a year. How much should we allocate?

  • Purchase and maintain a second home. What will that cost upfront and on an annual basis?

  • Leave a multi-generational legacy for my family. Do you have an estate plan?

  • Give a meaningful gift to charity that means a great deal to me. What do you hope to accomplish?

In each case, we can estimate a required dollar figure and a proposed timeframe. When that is established, we can look at variations and their impacts.

Clients often seek guidance that extends well beyond portfolio decisions. In addition to investment management, their needs may include business planning, lending considerations, and broader strategies that touch many aspects of their financial lives. To address these priorities thoughtfully, we use a comprehensive financial planning process built around the following steps:
    Icon Image
    Step 1: Introductory Call
We’ll begin with an introductory conversation focused on understanding your goals and expectations for working together. I’ll ask about your past experiences managing your finances, whether independently or with a Financial Advisor, and we’ll explore the key priorities you’d like to address, along with any challenges that may stand in the way of achieving them.

    Step 2: Discovery Meeting
During our Discovery Meeting, we will review your overall financial picture and discuss what you hope your wealth will help you achieve. Together, we will clarify your objectives, estimate the resources required to pursue them, and assess whether your current financial position supports your goals within the timeframe that matters to you.

    Step 3: Plan Presentation
A Plan Presentation Meeting, during which I will walk you through your financial plan and review the recommended strategies designed to help address any shortfalls between your goals and available resources. The plan will include a proposed asset allocation that reflects the extent of those gaps, as well as your risk tolerance.
