My Story and Services

Matt Smith is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in Birmingham, Alabama. As a Financial Advisor, Matt offers portfolio, retirement, and tax minimization strategies for individuals and business owners. After thoroughly discussing and reviewing a client's needs, goals, and future objectives, Matt creates a customized strategy designed to help them achieve their financial and life goals. He takes great pride in the relationships he builds with his clients from gaining their trust to becoming their biggest financial asset.

Matt holds a Juris Doctorate from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from The University of Alabama. Before joining Morgan Stanley in 2025 Matt worked for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management where he began in the financial services industry in 2012. Matt was a practicing attorney for several years but does not provide legal advice in his current role at Morgan Stanley.*

Matt is married to Keilah Smith of Mobile, Alabama. They live in Homewood with their daughters, Mary Jennings and Margaret Ruth, and are active members of the community. Matt previously served on the Board of Directors for the Trinity Child Development Center and is a member of the University of Alabama National Alumni Association. Keilah and Matt enjoy being at the lake, snow skiing, and college football.
