About Me
Richard E. Mason, Jr. has spent four decades in financial advising, dedicating himself to doing the right thing for every client and business owner while personalizing investment strategies to meet each client’s specific needs. He enjoys working with clients and values making clients feel comfortable with their financial strategies and potential risks they encounter.
In 2002, Richard began working with JoAnna Clark Mason, Senior Vice President, to found Mason Clark Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, Richard and team then transitioned to Morgan Stanley in 2024. With their shared values and combined strengths, JoAnna and Richard are proud to have built a team that is rooted in being fully committed and caring toward their clients.
Richard began his financial services career in 1977 with Bache, Halsey, Stuart, and Shields Incorporated which became Prudential Securities in 1980, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors. He is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, and later received his Master of Arts from East Carolina University. Richard maintains the Series 7, Series 63, and series 65 licenses.
Richard would say the most important part of his life is his family: his daughter Ashely, a physician’s assistant with an orthopedic practice in Raleigh, and of course, his wife, JoAnna. He loves to travel and is an avid hockey fan – in his spare time, you can catch him cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes with his family.
