About Me

I help clients identify, articulate, and quantify their investment goals, then create goals-based plans to help reach them. With a belief in systematic, evidence-based processes and strategies, I seek to take the emotion out of financial decision-making. Thats one of the reasons why I have been named one of Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisors in 2021, 2022. 2023 and 2024.

After graduating with a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany, I began my career as an accountant at a “big 6” accounting firm. After two years of working as an accountant, I decided to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a financial advisor, where I joined Merrill Lynch in 1993.

In 2007, I earned my Certified Financial Planner™ credential having completed over two years of classroom work, rigorous testing, and ongoing certification. My educational background, experience and professional credentials have made it clear that intelligent, informed choices give clients their best opportunity for success.

I am located in Long Island with my wife Debbie, and three kids, Rachel, Jared and Lindsay. I'm an avid reader, league tennis player, and exercise enthusiast (especially the Peloton).

As your Financial Advisor, I can help you define and strive to meet your goals by delivering a vast array of resources to you in the way that is most appropriate for how you invest and what you want to achieve. Working together, with you, I can help preserve and grow your wealth. You will have access to one of New York's most seasoned and respected investment professionals, a premier trading and execution platform, and a full spectrum of investment choices.

    Understanding your Savings Vehicles
When it comes to retirement savings, the most important thing is to get started—after all, time is one of your greatest assets. Although retirement may seem far for some, it is essential to get started on planning for future living expenses, potential education funds, or travel costs. Let me help you educate on ways to grow and preserve your wealth.

    The Psychological Transition into Retirement
Most retirement preparations focus on financial planning, but it is equally crucial to look at personal considerations and help you with easing the fear of the unknown. Given that many people overlook the psychological adjustments of retirement, I can help you understand why it’s important to be emotionally (not just financially) ready for retirement.
    Icon Image
    Risks to Your Retirement
Once you determine what kind of retirement you want, we will work together to take a closer look at the risks that might be standing between you and your retirement goals. No matter how well you save during the accumulation phase, it’s critical to plan how you convert those assets to income. I can help you navigate the challenges that may arise.

    Impact of Taxes
The strategies you use when drawing down your retirement savings can have a significant impact on how much you’ll pay in taxes and may help you keep more of the returns. Each retiree’s situation is different but establishing a tax management strategy for your investments can help you retain more of your investment returns.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.

8Structured Investments are complex and not appropriate for all investors. An investment in structured investments involves risks. These risks can include but are not limited to: fluctuations in the price, level or yield of underlying asset(s), interest rates, currency values and credit quality, substantial loss of principal, limits on participation in appreciation of underlying asset(s), limited liquidity, credit risk, and/or conflicts of interest. Many structured investments do not pay interest or guarantee a return above principal at maturity. Investors should read the security’s offering documentation prior to making an investment decision.

9Fixed Income investing entails credit risks and interest rate risks. When interest rates rise, bond prices generally fall.

10An investment in an exchange-traded fund (ETF) involves risks similar to those of investing in a broadly based portfolio of equity securities traded on exchange in the relevant securities market, such as market fluctuations caused by such factors as economic and political developments, changes in interest rates and perceived trends in stock prices. The investment return and principal value of ETF investments will fluctuate, so that an investor’s ETF shares, if or when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of an exchange-traded fund (ETF) before investing. The prospectus contains this and other information about the ETF. To obtain a prospectus, contact your Financial Advisor or visit the ETF company’s website. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.
